Any province interested in adding Triathlon as part of their sporting code for the upcoming PNG Unity Games — I’m here to help develop and support the sport.
Triathlon is one of the fastest-growing endurance sports in the world, combining three disciplines:
🏊 Swimming
🚴 Cycling
🏃 Running
It is a sport that builds:
• Discipline
• Endurance
• Mental strength
• Healthy lifestyle habits
• Teamwork and community spirit
Triathlon is suitable for both male and female athletes, youth development programs, schools, churches, and community sporting pathways. Events can be organized in different categories such as Sprint Distance, Standard Distance, relay teams, and beginner community races.
The sport also promotes tourism, fitness awareness, and positive youth engagement while helping athletes prepare for national and international competitions.
As an experienced triathlete from Papua New Guinea, I’m willing to assist provinces with:
• Athlete development
• Basic coaching and training guidance
• Event planning and setup
• Swimming, cycling, and running programs
• Youth and community engagement
• Building a strong provincial triathlon structure
Triathlon is more than just racing — it teaches resilience, commitment, time management, and a never-give-up mindset.
Let’s grow the sport together and create opportunities for the next generation of PNG athletes 🇵🇬

After 16 years in triathlon — training, competing, and now coaching and mentoring new triathletes — I’ve come to deeply understand the three disciplines of this sport: swimming, cycling, and running.
Today, I want to talk about swimming.
Swimming is very different from running and cycling. In running and cycling, the more consistently you train, the stronger and more efficient you naturally become over time. The longer you run or ride, the more your body adapts and improves.
But swimming does not work the same way.
You can swim every day for years and still struggle to improve if your technique is incorrect. Without proper body positioning, breathing control, balance in the water, and efficient stroke mechanics, you may continue reinforcing bad habits and building the wrong movement patterns.
In swimming, technique is everything.
That’s why someone who started swimming later than you can still become faster in a short period of time — not necessarily because they are stronger or fitter, but because they are moving through the water correctly and efficiently.
The water rewards efficiency, not force.
Once you understand the correct technique, body alignment, timing, and feel for the water, swimming becomes smoother, faster, and less exhausting. That is when real improvement begins.
As a coach, one of the biggest lessons I teach young triathletes is this:
“Don’t just train harder — train smarter and master the fundamentals.”
More tips and insights on running and cycling coming soon.

Investing in the next generation through sport. Training these young athletes is more than building fitness — it’s building discipline, confidence, and character. The future of our community starts here.

In Germany once you say that you are a mechanic everyone respects you because such work can only be done by an intelligent head. In Africa someone who can dismantle and couple a car engine without looking into any book is ashamed to mention his/her job. Not even European mechanics in all their trainings can dismantle and couple a car engine without looking into a book. In Africa we are not poor. We simply do not know the value of who we are and what we have.
