Rugby League World Cup 2026 | Latest News, Draw and Tickets 02/06/2026

As of today, the confirmed major signings for the PNG Chiefs' inaugural 2028 NRL season are:
Jarome Luai – The club's first-ever player signing and marquee playmaker. He signed for the 2028 and 2029 seasons, with an option for 2030.

Alex Johnston – The prolific South Sydney winger became the Chiefs' second major signing.

Connor Watson – The versatile NSW Origin representative became signing number three and will join the club for its inaugural campaign.

There are also reports today that English forward Matty Lees has become the club's fourth signing, although official club confirmation details are still emerging.

The Chiefs are also reportedly targeting several PNG Kumuls players, including:

1. Edwin Ipape
2. Zac Laybutt
3. Morea Morea
4. Gairo Voro
5. Cooper Bai

These players have been linked to the club but have not yet been officially announced as signings.
