Lakwaharu Basketball Association

Shout out to the Lakwa Spartans Women's Basketball Team participating in the POMBA Season 2025.

They end the Season as Minor Premiers in the Women's Division.

Finals Series commence today. The ladies take on Exodus in the Stand-By for Grand Final today, Monday 28th July at TAIC.

Please do come and support the team and see them through to the big dance!

The Men's team on the other hand have yet again, proven the need to brush up on commitment, discipline and attitude. Few of the key requirements needed to succeed in anything.

We also take time to honor and remember former Spartan, Coach and Mentor, Late Nick Daroa who played a pivotal role in making Lakwaharu Spartans presence felt in our maiden season last year, 2024.

The team would have not made it this for if it wasn't for the sacrifices and commitment of the players and their families, including their spouses and children, the coaches and management for their efforts throughout the season. So a massive thank you to all our families and supporters far and wide.

Congratulations Lakwa Spartans and all the world's best in the games leading to the big dance! 🏀⛹️‍♀️

On behalf of the LBA Executives, sub-committees, and affiliated members, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Matatia Stanley, LBA Secretary, on his graduation with a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the University of Papua New Guinea. 👨‍⚖️

Matatia has exemplified outstanding leadership qualities, serving as a role model to the basketball youth in our community while successfully balancing his academic pursuits with his responsibilities as Association Secretary.

We are incredibly proud of Matatia's dedication and achievements. Congratulations once again, Matatia, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Your hard work and perseverance are truly inspiring to us all. 🤝

Draws for Game 3

In respect to Wildcats Mens Open Captain Late Kevin Egu, the Match Committee has granted Wildcats Basketball Clubs request to schedule all their games to the last day of the round, that should give the Club ample time to visit the Family and Haus Cry for their Late Captain before taking the court for their next game without him.

Greetings LBA Followers, Our long awaited Season Proper will kick off this Sunday starting with our LBA JUNIOR Games (u10, u13 & u14) followed by our SENIORS starting at 6:30pm .

Our Pre-Season Game 2 will start on Monday 02.12.2024 with slight changes on the Draws, hence *ALL FIRST GAMES WILL BE U23 BOYS* and must start at 6.

All teams are advised to bring your team lists (Players with the Jumper numbers) to the Scorebench in ample time so delaying of games can be minimized.
