The announcement of the finalists also marks the opening of the People’s Choice voting for the 12th category of the People’s Choice Award.

The winner of the People’s Choice Award is selected through a public vote, using the FM100 SMS and WhatsApp voting platform. The more votes a finalist gets, the more chances of them winning.

Candidates for this category come from four finalists of the following:
• Male Athlete of the Year
• Female Athlete of the Year
• Team of the Year
• National Performance of the Year

Voting for the People’s Choice Award category will close on Friday 15 May 2026.

The Presentation Night will be held at the home of the SP Sports Awards, Crown Hotel on Saturday 30 May 2026.

Paul Wade, Olympian and former Socceroo Captain, has been announced as the Guest Speaker for the 34th SP Sports Awards.

We are also pleased to unveil the 33 finalists who will be recognized at this year’s awards.

Hard copies of the nomination are available at: PNGOC Office at 4 Mile, SP Brewery Offices in Gordons, Lae, Goroka, and Kokopo.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When submitting your nomination, make sure to include supporting documents such as newspaper articles, photos, or video footage (for online entries) and add your contact details.
