🏀 TEBA 3x3 Basketball Tournament – Happening Today!

The PNG Tertiary Basketball Association (TEBA) is excited to host the TEBA 3x3 Basketball Tournament today at the University of Papua New Guinea Basketball Court. We invite all TEBA students and alumni to come down, compete, and enjoy an exciting afternoon of basketball.

📅 Date: Sunday, 15 March 2026
⏰ Time: 11:00am – 6:00pm
📍 Venue: University of Papua New Guinea Basketball Court, Port Moresby

Tournament Details:
🏀 Team Registration Fee: K100 per team
🏀 Divisions: Male & Mixed (Mixed teams must include 2 males and 2 females)
🏀 Each team will play 2 games

🏆 Grand Prize: K600.00

Please note that the FISU Oceania 3x3 Qualifiers, which were previously expected to be held in Sydney, Australia, have now been cancelled for this year.

The winning team may also get the opportunity to take part in the FISU Oceania 3x3 Qualifiers (if held) in Sydney, Australia.

The PNG Tertiary Basketball Association (TEBA) successfully hosted its Mini 3x3 Holiday Hustle Tournament over the weekend, bringing together tertiary students for an exciting and competitive holiday basketball event.

A total of 20 teams participated, with 14 teams competing in the Open Men’s Division and 6 teams in the Mixed Division. The tournament attracted strong support from players and spectators, creating an energetic atmosphere and showcasing the growing interest in tertiary basketball, with many new faces taking part.

The primary purpose of the Mini Tournament was to keep tertiary students positively engaged during the holiday period, encourage fellowship and sportsmanship on the court, and raise funds toward TEBA’s planned affiliation with the Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea in 2026.

TEBA sincerely thanks the referees, bench officials, support staff, and volunteers whose efforts contributed to the smooth and successful delivery of the event.

Special appreciation is extended to the Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea Inc (BFPNG), particularly the Basketball For Good Coordinator, Mr. Jordan Sere, for standing behind the TEBA Executive and supporting this initiative. Your support continues to strengthen youth and tertiary basketball development.

The PNG Tertiary Basketball Association also acknowledges its Executive Committee for their leadership and coordination in delivering a successful tournament.

TEBA looks forward to hosting more competitions that continue to grow the game and create opportunities for tertiary students across Papua New Guinea.
