DAUGHTER OF APAYAO WINS DOUBLE GOLD IN TAEKWONDO IN SOUTH KOREA

Apayao's Ruth Viernes brought pride to the province and the Philippines after capturing two gold medals at the 19th World Taekwondo Culture Expo held in Seoul, South Korea.

Representing the Apayao Eagles Taekwondo Club, Viernes dominated both the Women's Poomsae and Women's Kyorugi events, earning a remarkable double-gold finish against international competitors.

Her outstanding performance showcases not only her exceptional skill, discipline, and determination but also the growing strength of taekwondo athletes from Apayao on the international stage.

Viernes' achievement is another milestone for Philippine taekwondo and serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes across the Cordillera region, proving that dedication and hard work can lead to success on the world stage.

What makes this victory even more special is that Coach Ruth wasn't physically with the team because she was also competing in Korea during the same dates. Despite her absence, our athletes remained disciplined, focused, and gave their very best both inside and outside the competition. That is the true spirit of AETC.
