BASIC OUTDOORS COOKING COURSE:

Outdoor not outdoors Culinary Course learnings shall include the following:

1. Cooking with firewood and outdoor stoves.
*Before using a firewood, we need to identify what firewood is great for cooking.
**Outdoors stove options shall also be discussed by a mountaineer.

2. Creating a kitchen with the use of available resources such as rocks, weeds, stones, wood, etc.

3. Organizing an outdoor dining area and then a Dap-ayan or Adivayan area for an old forgotten way of human inter action which is socialization around a bonfire with real humans sharing stories.

WHAT TO COOK:
(More details during enrollment especially with groups).
1. Pork or Chicken Meat (other kinds of meat such as deer, beef, others shall depend on availability) for Smoking (Kinuday in Ibaloy, Kini-ing in Kankanaey;)
2. Pinulpugan (vs pinikpikan explained)
3. Rice (red / white / mixed);
4. Sweet Potato / Kamote;
5. Potatoes (regular)
6. Tomatoes
7. Other root crops - whatever is available.
8. Pising / Laing (gabi stems) as vegetables.
9. Water cress (if available)
10. And other endemic plants or vegetables in the mountains.

BASIC SAYOTE PLANTING COURSE: We love sayote. We eat it raw, mixed with other vegies, sautee, candy, expander. But how is this produced? How does it grow? And why do other farmers call it green gold?

We invite you to have an adventure with us.

Let us learn the basics of planting SAYOTE, at some farms that Bbossvoyage Travel and Tours and Online Farmer Eco Integrated Farm and also Shontog-Pine Eco-Park will prepare ahead of time:

By enrolling in this course, a participant will appreciate the ins and outs of producing a humble vegetable that could and may even lengthen ones years on earth.

We will learn the varieties of sayote, how to choose a soil to plant sayote, when to plant sayote, when do we plant and harvest sayote.

We will also learn how to make a backyard or small sayote farm even in small spaces, to practice SELF SUFFICIENCY or perhaps to take care of a plant as a stress reliever, at the same time, stomach reliever.

All this for only a (1) day of learning adventure with us.

SPELUNKING TRAINING or CAVING includes learning how to move through a cave safely and efficiently, and understanding the importance of safety in general.

Basic techniques:
Learn how to crawl, stoop, roll, squeeze through tight spaces, and negotiate slopes. You can practice these movements before going into your first cave.

Gear
Learn how to use the right clothing, helmet, headlamp, knee and elbow pads, and cave pack.

Safety
Learn to be careful with every footstep, and to use good judgment. You should also dress to avoid hypothermia, and know your limits.

Group dynamics
Learn to be aware of the comfort level of others in your group, and to support them if needed.

Vertical caving
Learn how to abseil or rappel, scramble, chimney, and use rope ladders. Vertical caving requires more advanced training, and it's recommended to learn it in a controlled environment.

Cave rescue
Consider taking cave rescue training, especially if you cave regularly.

You can also learn from experienced cavers, join caving societies, and study up on the sport or keep abreast with Bbossvoyage Travel and Tours schedules for joiners training. You may also ask for an exclusive group training.

This is great for team building, family outing, disaster survival training, rescue training, self development, character building.

BASIC ROPEMASHIP CLASS: Great for team building, school activities, self rescue trainings, boy and girl scouts, mountaineering, and others.

This program covers all the basics and foundation to roping and knot tying skills. Including

practical knots
Equipment familiarization
basic anchoring
foot/knee ascender and other systems
rappelling devices
rope safety
self rescue techniques and more
Course duration: 1 Day (10 hours)

Prerequisite: NONE

Class location:

The Basic Ropemanship class will be held indoors or outdoors depending on which season this training has occurred.

We will be spending the entire day learning practical rope skills and there will be a return demo in the afternoon.

Meals and Snacks:
Students or participants shall be given lists or may order from us to provide them the required food, hydration needs and also bags. Water should be at least One (1) to Two (2) Liters each.

The training venue shall be at the Shontog-Pine Eco-Park otherwise it will be announced ahead of time.

What Gear do I need to bring?
We suggest that you come dressed to spend a day outdoors where weather can change.

The weather in the country is quite unpredictable so even if it is sunny, include rain gears in your pack.

Training equipment:
Utility rope at least 9mm (static or dynamic) Four (4) to Five (5) meters in length.

*Other safety equipment shall be discussed during the enrollment.

IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit), you may order from us or you may bring your own.

Age Requirements?
We can teach kids, teens, adults, seniors.
*Minors must be accompanied by a participating guardian or parent.

ATHLETICS is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping and throwing.

The most common types of athletics competitions are track and field, road running, cross-country running, and racewalking.

Bbossvoyage Travel and Tours have collaborated with Licensed, sports and DEP-ED accredited Coaches to accommodate non students who would like to train for athletics, to compete with the game of life to surpass the declining number of years we have on earth.

Our bodies were made to be active, walking at least 15 t0 30 kilometers a day. To achieve this or its equivalent, having a coach will help one to achieve that goal of providing what our body needs.

BASIC MOUNTAINEERING COURSE:

We encourage every one to enroll in one of our sports and outdoors courses, one of which is the Basic Mountaineering Course.

The Basic Mountaineering Course is the foundation course in which men and women are initiated into mountaineering (survival is another course).

The objectives of BMC are:
To learn the basic techniques of movement on rock, snow and ice (in the Philippines though we have no snow and ice, we have a lot of water even on top of our hills, or tropical mountains).

Theoretical and practical aspects of mountaineering and its allied subjects, like Map reading, Navigation, Weather, Medicines,

Mountain Hygiene etc;

To inculcate the right attitude amongst the trainees enabling the participants to view mountaineering as an art and not just a physical or adventure activity.

To motivate people from all walks of life to higher endeavor.

To make available to the trainees, suitable and relevant literature and reading material on mountaineering.

To learn how to make ourselves comfortable and manage their health in the mountain environment.

​The Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC) is designed for climbers who are just starting out with their mountaineering journey. It is also a great way for the more experienced outdoorsmen/women to partake in re-learning the latest techniques and training modules provided by the Mountaineering Federation of the Philippines Inc. (MFPI)

In this 2-day outdoor excursion, we will be able to learn the essentials of Mountaineering in the Philippines and similar tropical regions in Asia. These learnings are part of the primary skills necessary in any type of outdoor activities And shall also be your stepping stone towards learning more advanced wilderness skills and classes we offer.

The mountaineering skills provided by Bbossvoyage Travel and Tours will be from our MFPI certified BMC instructors, and the venues shall be at first day an an indoor setting and next shall be at the Shontog-Pine Eco-Park, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Class location

The first day shall be indoors, venue shall be at GOWI Office, Rm 308 Juniper Building, Lower General Luna Road, Baguio City.

The second day which will require a 1-2 hours of hiking with loaded backpacks shall be at the Shontog-Pine Eco-Park.

However If the students have time and would like to camp out on the first night, they may do so. Bbossvoyage will arrange the set up.

Students/participants shall be required to bring their own camping gear, pack/prepare their own food, and hydration needs. A water-source will be available at camp (natural spring).

Heads up, it will be a wild camping experience with less amenities since we want our students to experience a real-life tropical pine forest / wilderness camp setting.

Each participants are required to wear shoes/boots at all times when moving.

What Gear do I need to bring?
Clothing: We suggest that you come dressed to spend a day outdoors where weather can change. The weather in the country is quite unpredictable so even if it is sunny, include rain gears in your pack.

Shelter: (for those who opt to camp out on the first night - addl fee for camping out - you will be guarded by camp staff)
Tents with good waterproofing, tarps, or hammocks w/tarps will be applicable at camp. However we highly recommend you bring tents so you can also secure all your gears inside while the training is on-going.

Food & Hydration:
Student will need to bring your own food good for four (4) meals, 1st day meals must be ready-to-eat meals (or order from us in advance).

Student will also be required to bring at least 1-2Liters of drinking water and water filtration system if you are not comfortable drinking straight from a natural spring.

Cooking/mess kit:
Student must bring your own mess kit (for cooking & eating). Cooking set & camping stove with enough fuel. Campfires will be allowed BUT controlled at camp hence we suggest you bring camping stoves for convenience.

Illumination & power:
Flashlights/headlamps with spare batteries. Power banks for your phones and other gadgets

IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit)

Training equipment:
Paracord at least 3 meters, and something to takes notes with if you wish. We’ll provide all the other things needed for your outdoor adventure training.

Age Requirements?
We can teach kids, teens, adults, senior citizens, we will adjust our resources and techniques in learning and teaching as needed. (Trainings Fees will be adjusted if we will need more assistants).

Minors must be either accompanied by a participating adult guardian or parent or we will be given an authority to take care of your student. (Training Fee will be adjusted).
