ON THIS DAY:
On May 1, 1903, the first labor day movement was organized by the Unión Obrera Democrática Filipina founded by Isabelo de los Reyes and Hermenigildo Cruz. The protest was led by Dominador Gomez, de los Reyes' successor, paving the way for the continued struggle and fight for the Filipino workers' better working conditions, just compensation, and fair treatment.
Today, the spirit of the first labor movement in the country lies in each workers, labor rights defenders, and leaders who are unyielding and are adamant in fighting for the labor rights of each Filipino.
All, for a just and fair, Philippines.
Maligayang Araw ng Manggagawa!
