π AIM/NM Jasper Faeldonia is CHAMPION!
NM Jasper Faeldonia topped the inaugural Dr. GM Eugene Torre FIDE Standard Open Chess Tournament held August 30β31 at the Marikina Sports Center.
Jasper scored 5.5/6 points (5 wins, 1 draw) to claim 1st place and β±20,000, edging out NM Jeremy Marticio of Cabuyao City and his younger brother AIM Jerick Faeldonia on tiebreak.
What makes it even sweeter? Both Faeldonia brothers finished on the podium! NM Marticio is second.
In the final round, Jasper defeated NM Keith Adriane Ilar after 65 moves, while Jerick stunned IM Ricardo de Guzman in a 75-move battle.
The tournament drew 223 players, including 4 International Masters, 3 National Masters, and 18 Arena Masters. Organized by Jun Enage supported by Marikina City Mayor Maan Teodoro and Cong. Marcy Teodoro.

Tanishq Kumar Jabalia Finishes 2nd in U16 Rapid Chess at Malaysian Chess Festival 2026! π΅π
Congratulations to Tanishq Kumar Jabalia for securing 2nd place in the U16 Rapid Chess category at the 21st Malaysian Chess Festival 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! π²πΎ
Tanishq, a student of Canossa School in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna scored an impressive 5.0/6 points, finishing as the lone Philippine representative in the U16 category.
He finished behind tournament winner Yi Feng Peh of Malaysia in a strong field of young chess players.

π CHAMPION! PCAP SUDECO CUP
AFM Nathan Philip Ferrer takes the U15 Kiddies Open Rapid Chess Championship at the PCAP β Professional Chess Association of the Philippines Sudeco Cup, held this Sunday at Estancia Mall, Pasig City!
The 13-year-old Grade 8 student of LPU-Calamba, coached by WFM Michelle Yaon and John Peter Ablid, delivered a dominant performance, going undefeated with 6.5/7 points against a field of rated opponents.
With his impressive finish, Nathan claimed solo first place, taking home the β±5,000 top prize and championship trophy.
