A message from Coach Dennis P. Bongocan
Back in 2013, Rosevale School, then a small institution with just over 300 students made history by becoming champions in the Milo Little Olympics Football Elementary division in Mindanao. That victory earned us the honor of representing Mindanao in the National Championships in Cebu City.
Over the years, Rosevale School several times represented Cagayan de Oro City in both elementary and secondary football divisions in NMRAA Regional Meets. Our hard work paid off as we clinched the Northern Mindanao (NMRAA) Regional Meet titles in 2016 and 2018, advancing to the Palarong Pambansa in Albay and Vigan.
These milestones are symbolized by the three stars in our Rosevale School Football Team Logo, each star representing Excellence, Grit, and Pride.
Then came the pandemic.
Our momentum was halted after the NMRAA Regional Meet 2019 in Lanao del Norte. For nearly three years, contact sports in Cagayan de Oro were strictly prohibited. Our football program went silent but not our spirit.
In 2023, as face-to-face classes resumed and sports slowly returned, we embraced a fresh start. It was a complete reset. But with faith, discipline, and commitment, we rebuilt step by step, training by training.
Currently, We Rise Again.
Rosevale is once more a proud producer of quality grassroots football players in our city.
This year, we achieved two major victories |
• PFF U16 Regional Qualifiers: a battle among 5 strong Regional Football Associations
• DepEd NMRAA Regional Meet: competing against 9 provinces and cities football teams in region 10
With renewed strength, the Rosevale School Football Team, together with a few augmented players will represent our:
• Regional Football Association (CMORFA) in the Philippine Football Federation U16 National Championships in Bacolod (April 27 – May 7)
• Palarong Pambansa 2026 in Agusan del Sur (starting May 24)
From three stars to five stars. Thank you Lord for all the blessings 🙏🏼

Carlos Lopez, the ultimate "Dark Horse" of the NMRAA 2026 MEET Elementary Football Boys.
While he may be soft-spoken off the field, but during the games, his football boots did all the talking when it really mattered most.
Carlos delivered 3 very crucial goals that defined the Rosevale School - CDO Risers tournament destiny:
⚽️ One Goal to break through the Eliminations
⚽️ One Goal to blast the Semi Finals
⚽️ One Goal to seal the deal in the Finals
A steady Grade 6 honor student to a Regional Football Champion, Carlos proved that focus and composure win games... as they say, the quiet ones make the most noise on the pitch.
Onward to Palarong Pambansa

Unstoppable Underdogs: The Rosevale School - CDO Riser Championship Journey
This is our first Regional Games appearance in a long time.
[A short story from the Parents' point of view]
The Eliminations: Test of Character
We started our campaign facing a disciplined hometown Valencia Team in the opening match. Our boys suffered a narrow last minute 0-1 loss. With their backs against the wall and the pressure of a short tournament format, our team had to find their rhythm quickly.
Exactly what they did.
With a refocused energy, our boys secured a vital 2-0 win over Misamis Oriental, keeping their semi-final hopes alive. Our boys scraped through the eliminations, claiming the 4th and final seed. THE WILD CARD. The "Dark Horse" position that perhaps many overlooked.
Beautiful goals from Jack Sanico and Carlos Lopez.
The Semi-Finals: Momentum and Grit
In the semi-finals our boys were pitted against the tournament favorites and top-seeded Bukidnon, the 2025 Regional Champs. Bukidnon dominated the knockout stage with a perfect record and a high-scoring offense.
Our boys displayed incredible defensive discipline and surgical attacks. We shut down Bukidnon in a 1-0 upset.
Carlos Lopez, once again delivered, breaking Bukidnon's 3-Year Regional Meet winning streak.
We proved we are not here just to participate but rather, in a way, not dominate, but be contenders. This win sent a clear message: the CDO Team that lost on Day 1 was not the same team standing in the way of the trophy.
We parents, considered this as the game of the tournament.
The Grand Finale: Redemption
The final game was a poetic rematch against hometown favorite Valencia, the only team to have defeated our boys in the tournament.
While Valencia entered the match with a perfect record and zero goals conceded, our boys entered with Passion, Perseverance, and the Fire of Redemption.
In a beautiful display of teamwork and tactical precision, our boys flipped the script. We broke Valencia’s defense not once, but twice. With a 2-0 clean sheet victory in the Finals, our boys officially claimed the NMRAA 2026 Elementary Football Boys Championship.
Carlos Lopez and Gab Vega scored in the finals to seal the win.
The Road to Palarong Pambansa
Overcoming the odds, our Rosevale School - CDO Riser Team has earned the right to represent Northern Mindanao (Region 10) in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa. Their journey from the Wild Card Team to winning the Gold Medal only serves as a reminder that in football, it’s not about how you start, but how you finish.
