Aggie Bulls captain ball Andrew Gaston snags the 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗠𝗩𝗣 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 award for this year's TXC, whilst leading the team to securing their back-to-back victory.

The stakes were high and the pressure was on for the Aggie Bulls captain after losing to the SBM Eagles in their first game. Despite the high tensions, Gaston's leadership shone through: he calmly delivered countless rebounds and assists, keeping his head in the game and eyes on the goal.

"I honestly didn't expect to be the Finals MVP. During the game, I wasn't thinking of how many points I had; all that mattered to me was how I could help my team score points and secure the championship title", Gaston remarked when asked about his Finals MVP award.

Gaston proved that a true player's value isn't measured in points, but in how many wins they create for others.

Amid the high-stakes Basketball championship game, Aggie-SOE captain Andrew Gaston set the pace. His calm, MVP-winning performance wasn't passive, but a deliberate and disciplined ex*****on of leadership that scored the coalition another victorious season on the court.

Surrounded by a roaring crowd at the XU Gymnasium on October 26, every possession became a battle that threatened to spiral into chaos. But the Aggie-SOE Colossus had an anchor in Gaston, who stepped onto the court and steadied his team.

He led by example, putting up a stat line of 14 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Gaston remained level-headed and steadfast, a true Colossus player who, in the midst of the noise, executed and defended their title as champions.

His impact was clear in the game's most crucial moments. As the SBM Eagles fought back in the third quarter, Gaston halted their momentum with a sneaky layup and later hit a clutch jumper. He capped his performance in the fourth with a key assist for a shot that helped put the game out of reach, 70-62.

While the energy in the gym was electric, Gaston's game was calm, composed, and relentless.

“I reminded everyone to control their emotions. Listen to our coaches, focus on teamwork, and show respect no matter what the outcome is,” Gaston said, showing his sportsmanship and maturity was the rhythm that the entire team locked into, resulting in a well-coordinated display of teamwork.

The Aggie Bulls Men's Basketball Team once again claims the championship title for this year's TXC. Dubbed as the underdogs of the season, the Aggie Bulls Men's Basketball Team proved that they can still charge their way towards securing a back-to-back win for the College of Agriculture.

The team started this season off with a crushing loss to the SBM Eagles, but that did not stop them; they bounced back stronger and more united as a team, earning them the top spot in their bracket. From then on, the team became unstoppable – beating the NSG Pythons with a 19-point lead in the semis, securing their place in the finals of The Xavier Cup.

Charging their way to the finals of The Xavier Cup 2025, tensions were high as they once again faced the SBM Eagles in the court. But the Aggie Bulls proved it's not how you start the game, it's how you finish – making an incredible comeback in the finals rematch against the SBM Eagles, once again creating history as they secured a back-to-back championship.

This victory is made possible through the collective effort of the team and the hard work and dedication of their coaches.
