We assumed.

In response to the post circulating from other social media accounts as to why we do not allow our student-athletes join outside school leagues.

Allow me to explain it very clearly. We appreciate their passion for the game and their drive to want to play and improve as much as possible. It’s completely understandable why they would want to seek out additional playing time in outside leagues.

To clarify the reasoning behind our policy here at OLPA Soaring Hawks, this rule isn't meant to hold anyone back, but rather to protect their long-term athletic development, safety, and commitment to OLPA and OLPA Soaring Hawks. Here are some of the answers to those who wanted to further know our reason why we limit their playing games outside school.

✓Playing in multiple concurrent leagues drastically increases the risk of physical burnout and overuse injuries. Their body needs adequate time to rest, recover, and heal between practices and games.

✓Being part of the Soaring Hawks means committing to a shared goal with their teammates. Splitting time, energy, and tactical focus across outside programs can divide their attention and affect the cohesion of their team.

✓ Their academic responsibilities must always come first. Restricting outside commitments helps ensure they have enough bandwidth to keep their grades up alongside school practices.

✓All student-athletes here are scholars of the OLPA Soaring Hawks. That means their primary focus has to balance both their high-level academics and their commitment to the team.

We want them to excel, and all of our training sessions and school games are intentionally designed to challenge them and help them grow safely within our system.

P.S. Actually, we allowed them to join outside leagues provided that they must join for only one league so that they still have time to practice in our team.
