Another week has come to an end, and I am grateful for every opportunity to serve the people of Iloilo City.
This week began with the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, followed by my participation in the 26th Regular Session of the 12th Iloilo City Council, where we continued our work in crafting measures that promote the welfare and progress of our city. I also attended the Blue Ribbon Committee Hearing, taking part in discussions that uphold transparency and accountability in public service.
One of the most meaningful parts of the week was spending time with our vendors and constituents during our community engagement at the Iloilo Central Public Market. Listening to your stories, concerns, and suggestions reminds me that good governance begins with being present and accessible.
I also had the opportunity to attend the ILOILO TRIO EXPO 2026, a gathering that showcases innovation, entrepreneurship, and partnerships that contribute to the continued growth of Iloilo City.
To everyone I met this week, thank you for your trust and encouragement. Your support inspires me to keep working with dedication and sincerity. Together, let us continue building a stronger, more progressive, and more inclusive Iloilo City.

Honored to attend the Opening Ceremony and Ribbon-Cutting of the PHILBEX Iloilo, TLEX Iloilo, and MAFBEX Iloilo, organized by Worldbex Services International (WSI) at the Iloilo Convention Center.
The program opened with the welcome remarks of Ms. Jill Aithnie Ang, Managing Director of Worldbex Services International, followed by an inspirational talk from IDr. Lorenzo Valencia III, Vice President of the Philippine Institute of Interior Design.
The event was graced by distinguished leaders and guests, including Mayor Raisa S. Treรฑas, Vice Mayor Lady Julie Grace Baronda, Department of Tourism Region VI Director Crisanta Marlene Rodriguez, and Department of Trade and Industry Region VI OIC-Regional Director Mutya D. Eusores.
The keynote message of Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr. was delivered on his behalf by Ms. Aulynn B. Yue Sin, ENP, Provincial Tourism Officer and Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Center.
Congratulations to Worldbex Services International for another successful staging of these premier exhibitions that continue to promote trade, tourism, innovation, and investment in Iloilo and Western Visayas. Looking forward to stronger partnerships that will further drive economic growth and development in our region.

After the implementation of the 4-day work week in the Iloilo City Government, every Friday is dedicated to Community Engagement Day - today, our office carried out an ocular visit at the Iloilo Central Public Market to monitor conditions and gather information.

Attended the Committee Hearing of the Committee on Personnel, Good Government, Public Accountability and Oversight (Blue Ribbon), where we deliberated on proposed personnel and organizational changes within the Iloilo City Government.
The discussions focused on the proposed abolition, creation, and retitling of positions across various city government offices to ensure that the cityโs organizational structure remains responsive to the needs of public service.
Meaningful exchanges with the invited offices and resource persons provided valuable insights that will help guide the careful evaluation of these proposed measures. As members of the City Council, it is our responsibility to thoroughly review every proposal to ensure that any organizational changes will contribute to a more efficient, accountable, and responsive local government for the people of Iloilo City.
