📣 EXTRA! EXTRA! STOP SHOUTING, START SMASHING! 🏸
Are you tired of losing your voice calling out names every Saturday? Does your "Court 3, NEXT!" sound more like a dying seagull by the end of the session?

Well, I've heard your cries (literally), and thanks to a brilliant suggestion from Knicko Mingay, the Smash Syndicate PWA just got a major vocal upgrade! 🗣️✨

Introducing: The Voice of Smash! 🎙️
Forget manual shouting. We’ve gone full high-tech. You can now plug your phone into a speaker or connect via Bluetooth and let the app do the heavy lifting. Depending on what you have installed on your device, you can change the vibe of the whole court:

🇬🇧 The "Professional" (British Accent): For when you want the court to feel like All England Open. Very posh. Much classy.

🇰🇷 The "K-Drama" Style: Why just play badminton when you can feel like the main lead in a romantic sports montage? Oppa, it’s your turn to serve! 🌸

🇯🇵 The "Anime" Vibe: Maximum energy! Unleash your inner protagonist before you smash that bird into the net.

đź’ˇ Pro-Tip: The available voices depend on your specific device (Mobile or Laptop). If you're currently in Japan, your device probably already has those crisp Japanese voicepacks ready to go! Check your system settings to see what "personalities" you can unlock for the app.

Why use it?
Save Your Voice: Keep those vocal cords fresh for cheering (or trash-talking).

Total Convenience: The device handles the queue; you handle the court.

Global Flavor: Whether you want an English gentleman or a Tokyo tournament announcer, the power is in your pocket.

Thank you to one of our users for the suggestion @Ăś Knicko Mingay.

Here's a 5-minute video that walks through Smash Syndicate from sign-in to a proper session setup—arrival rules, session start time, players, courts, queue, and the extras that keep a club night organized.

“Settings: arrival + session start → Players → Courts → Queue → Stats & Finance.”

Whether you’re a queue manager for the first time or training someone new, this is the “do it in the right order” version so check-ins and the queue stay fair.

How the queue picks a match (the hierarchy)

When you tap to build the next game, the app doesn’t pick four people at random. It follows a clear order:

Who’s “up” first (fairness order)
Each player gets an effective priority = least # games played + arrival penalty (from your session start and check-in time). Lower = should play sooner.
If that’s tied, earlier check-in wins, then name order.

Balanced Skill mode
Among those who are due, the algorithm looks for a fair, competitive lineup: teams that match your skill rules (including “mirror” lineups when it keeps things even), avoids crazy skill mismatches, and scores options so team strength stays close.

Diversity / rotation
It then prefers lineups that don’t repeat the same partners and opponents from recent games—using each player’s recent teammates and opponents so the same faces aren’t stuck together or against each other every rally. It also penalizes repeating the exact same four-way matchup when it can avoid it.

Mix mode
Same fairness order as above, but split by gender: top priority males and females are paired into M+F vs M+F mixed doubles (you need at least two men and two women in the pool).

Smash Syndicate PWA v2.0.43 is here — and session night just leveled up.

Money, solved. Crunch court fees without the spreadsheet drama. The Finance tab plus the new Queue Fee Calculator (equal split, per-game fee, or fair equity by games played) means everyone knows what they owe—then export a clean finance snapshot straight to the group chat.

The gym TV moment. Flip on Live wallboard from Queue and drop a read-only live board on phones or the big screen. Who’s playing, who’s up next—live, obvious, and synced when you save. Less “who’s up?” chaos, more playing.

Grab v2.0.43 and run tonight’s session like you meant it by just pulling down on the app to refresh it!

In this short tutorial I walked through two everyday fixes in the app: how to replace or swap players on an active match and how to do the same for players who are already in the queue—so you can fix mistakes or no-shows without starting over.

I also gave a simple rundown of how “Add Queue” decides who plays next: it mainly looks at who has played the fewest games so court time stays fair, then applies your mode (Balanced vs Mix) and any synergy pairs when that still fits the fair order.

If you run sessions with the Smash Syndicate App, save this one—handy for helpers and new queue managers.

Teaser: you won’t need to ask the QM “are we up yet?” much longer.

Soon, one shared link will show the live queue, courts, and what just finished — updated in real time. Built for real club nights.

Players can see who’s on court, who’s next, and recent results with a simple link. No app login, no fuss.

Smash Syndicate — coming soon.

v2.0.33 released.

What’s new
Fair queueing that rewards showing up on time — early birds get a real boost, and late arrivals carry a clear penalty in line, so “I got here first” actually means something next to games played.
Arrival analytics — see who’s early, on time, in the grace window, late, or very late, plus who still hasn’t checked in.
Queue analytics — total matches, average and longest wait times, longest games, who’s been waiting the longest on standby, and a full match history you can export as an image for your group chat or records.

I walked through the whole flow in this video.

Install Smash Syndicate like an app (PWA) and run smoother sessions with less arguing at the queue.
