Hello… I’m sharing this with a heavy heart.

Since September 13, 2025, our beloved Mama Angela Ubas has been fighting for her life inside the ICU. In just one moment, everything changed. What was once an ordinary day turned into a long, painful journey of waiting, praying, and hoping against all odds.

Day after day, we watch her lie in that hospital bed—holding her hand, whispering prayers, begging God for mercy. The emotional pain is something words can barely describe. On top of that, the financial burden has grown beyond what our family can carry alone.

We have reached a point where we must ask for help—something that is incredibly hard for us to do. We are trying to raise $50,000 to cover her hospital bills so we can finally bring her home, where she belongs, surrounded by love instead of machines.

In Philippine politics, perception often matters more than proof. And today, the relentless attempts to discredit Vice President Sara Duterte may be producing the opposite effect of what her critics intend.

The more accusations are thrown, the louder the online trolling becomes, and the more coordinated the efforts appear to remove her from the political equation, the more 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿. For many Filipinos, especially those weary of elite political maneuvering, constant attacks feel less like accountability and more like harassment.

𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱. When criticism turns excessive—recycled narratives, aggressive social media pile-ons, and character assassination—it risks being seen not as justice, but as 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴. And in a country where emotion plays a powerful role in elections, that perception can be decisive.

Social media trolls and aggressive messaging may energize a political base, but they also harden opposition and awaken silent supporters. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗣 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗲 —an image that often translates into loyalty, not rejection.

If critics truly want accountability to resonate, it must be grounded in credibility, restraint, and due process—not noise. Otherwise, every exaggerated attack becomes free political capital for the very person they want to bring down.

In the end, Philippine politics has proven this lesson repeatedly: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲.
