The Lawn Tennis Team of the University of the Philippines Cebu – Varsity Program is all set to make its first-ever appearance in CESAFI Season 25.

The UP Cebu Tennis Varsity Team took the court on September 7 at the Visayas launch of Sky Warrior, hosted by Match Point Tennis Academy. The Fighting Maroons battled against the UC Webmasters in a thrilling race-to-4 showdown at Magnum Sports Complex.

We extend our gratitude to Ms. Cheanie Tan-Salacop, Match Point Managing Director, for the invite and Skywarrior Philippines for providing our varsity team with tennis balls and grip tapes after the games! 🎾✨

Catch the action live at Magnum Sports Complex, 5PM, as Cebu’s collegiate players rally with Match Point’s top talents using Sky Warrior tennis balls.

Back on Court, Eyes on the Goal! 🎾

The UP Cebu Lawn Tennis Varsity Team is back to training hard and gearing up for what’s next! Held at Citigreen Tennis Resort last August 2–3 and 9–10, 2025, the sessions focused on sharpening skills, building endurance, and strengthening teamwork.

This time, the players also went head-to-head in special tryouts, pushing each other to bring out their best game. Every rally, serve, and sprint brings our athletes closer to their goals, and they’re ready to make every match count.

Game, Set, Match: Tryouts Done! 🎾 ✨

That’s a wrap for the UP Cebu Lawn Tennis Varsity Tryouts! From powerful serves to baseline battles, each swing was a step toward building the next set of Fighting Maroons!

Held on June 12, 2025 at Citigreen Tennis Resort, the tryouts were spearheaded by Coach Ma. Sheena Camporedondo, who brought both intensity and inspiration to the court as she guided aspiring athletes through the day.

To everyone who showed up, rallied hard, and gave their all, thank you for stepping up and showing what it means to strive with purpose and pride. Here's to stronger serves, fiercer rallies, and the unstoppable spirit of UP Cebu Lawn Tennis!

A Victory Worth the Wait!

It may be long overdue, but the pride and legacy brought by our pioneering Lawn Tennis Varsity Team to UP Cebu deserve every bit of recognition. Last January, at their first-ever Regional SCUAA Games, these athletes made history and brought home bronze medals that marked the beginning of something great.
