Congratulations to Hilario Tiago Barrios Tambolero for an extraordinary display of endurance, resilience, and grit at the first-ever Igmaya-an Backyard Ultra in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.

In a race where there is no finish line — only “One More Loop” — Hilario stood strong until the very end, finishing 18 loops and serving as the final assist to the Last Man Standing, No Merci. 🫡

The trails are for everyone — and everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and protected.

We stand firmly against harassment, objectification, and any behavior that makes our community unsafe. Consent, respect, and accountability matter both on and off the trails.

Let’s continue building a trail community where women and all runners can move freely without fear, judgment, or exploitation. 💜

For three years, we've worked hard in raising awareness on how to make the trails a safe space for women. In fact, it was the main theme of GRIT Visayas this year. We spent late nights talking about Magna Carta for Women and other laws that protect us from harassment, and have discussed the topic repeatedly until it becomes the norm.

Thank you to everyone who listened. Thank you to everyone who took the time to learn and apply what we have talked about. Thank you for those who actively make the trails a safe space for us.

But when the very own people we trust we share the trails and this community with, become the same people who initiate sexualization and objectification, then it feels like the work we have put in have gone to waste. But we will not stop. We will continue to talk. We will continue to call out and hold people accountable.

[URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT] CHANGES AHEAD FOR CTUS 2026

​As we prepare to hit the technical ridges and lush peaks of our beautiful island, we have some important updates regarding the Cebu Trail Ultra Series (CTUS) 2026 season.
​Due to unforeseen logistical shifts, the Danasan Trail Ultra (DTU) will not be pushing through this year. While we know many of you were looking forward to the Danao trails, this change allows us to focus entirely on making the remaining legs of the series more competitive, and more rewarding than ever.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE GRANDSLAM QUEST

​The road to the Grandslam has changed, but the prestige remains the same. Since the series is now composed of three races, here is the updated road to glory:

​THE SILVER MEDALLION: For 2026, all finishers who successfully complete the three remaining legs of the series will earn the coveted Silver Series Medallions. These are a testament to your consistency and grit across Cebu’s toughest terrains. This in effect, retains the exclusivity and prestige of the Gold Medallions earned by 4-race finishers last year.

​THE EXCLUSIVE GRANDSLAM HOODIE: We are turning up the heat! To celebrate the resilience of our 2026 Grandslam finishers, those who complete all three races will receive an Exclusive CTUS Grandslam Hoodie. This is a limited-edition piece of gear—earned, never bought—designed specifically for those who didn't let a calendar change slow them down.

​The cancellation of one leg doesn't mean less trail; it means more intensity. With a tighter series, every point and every second counts more than ever.
