The selection process put contenders through three demanding rounds under a strict 15-minute rapid play format. Paired directly against current varsity players, aspiring student-athletes were evaluated on their opening preparation, positional control, and composure under tight clock pressure.

Every move across the 64 squares reflected pure calculation, strategy, and hours of discipline, proving that mental stamina is just as essential as physical strength on the athletic stage. Beyond raw calculation, the players demonstrated sharp tactical foresight, resourcefulness in complex endgames, and unyielding focus through every tick of the clock.
