The LPU-DAVAO Pirates- Mindanao Future Legends has made history by becoming the champion of the recently concluded prestigious Babak Intercollegiate Basketball League held in IGACOS and sponsored by Mayor Al David T. Uy.

The final score was 93-86 over Holy Cross of Davao College.

The Pirates' road to the championship was not an easy one. They had to overcome many challenges and obstacles along the way. However, their hard work, dedication, and perseverance paid off, and they emerged as the best team in the league.

The Pirates' head coach, Rey Perez, played a crucial role in the team's success. His leadership and guidance were instrumental in shaping the team's strategy and game plan. He instilled a sense of discipline and focus in the players, which allowed them to stay motivated and committed to their goals. Kudos also to Assistant Coach Andy Calingin III who shared his unwavering support.

The Pirates' players were also exceptional. They had a deep understanding of the game and were highly skilled. Their teamwork was outstanding, and they were able to execute their game plan to perfection. Their offense was potent, and their defense was impenetrable, which made them a formidable force on the court.

Throughout the 3-day league, the Pirates faced tough opponents, but they never lost sight of their goal.They worked tirelessly, both on and off the court, to improve their skills and develop their game plan. They analyzed their opponents' strengths and weaknesses and devised strategies to counter them.

In the final game, the Pirates faced off against their arch-rivals, the Holy Cross of Davao College. The game was intense, with both teams giving it their all. The Pirates started strong, taking the lead in the first quarter. However, HCDC fought back, and the game became a seesaw battle, with both teams trading baskets.

In the final quarter, the Pirates managed to take the lead again. They stepped up their defense and prevented the HCDC from scoring any easy shots. With just a few minutes left in the game, the Pirates managed to increase their lead, and they held on to it until the final whistle.

The Pirates' victory was a result of their hard work, dedication, and teamwork. It was a fitting end to a remarkable league.

The Pirates' success on the court was not just limited to their skills and strategy. Their unity and camaraderie were also crucial factors. The players had a great rapport with each other, which allowed them to work together seamlessly. They had each other's backs, both on and off the court.

The Pirates are grateful for the support they received from their parents and fans who were always there to cheer them on.

The Pirates' victory was not just a triumph for the team but for the entire LPU-DAVAO community. Thank you for the presence of the Vice President and COO for Institutional Affairs Dr. Jayson Barlan and the energetic Athletic Director Coach Noli Ayo. It was a testament to the school's commitment to excellence.

The LPU - Davao Pirates 🏴‍☠️ clinched a sealing victory in the semifinals match against the Holy Cross of Sasa College with a score of 105-81 and is now advancing to the finals match tomorrow against the Holy Cross of Davao College to compete for the championship trophy in the Intercollegiate Basketball League here in Barangay Babak, Samal Island 🌴
