We truly appreciate the reaction video. Yes , I truly agree with you that Gan Soo Do was conceptualized & created by my Grandfather to prepare oneself for "Street Fighting."Hence, the methodology, principles & concepts are geared towards actual combat application.

Furthermore, with the openmindedness , creativity & personal experience(s) of my Grandfather, he combined his vast knowledge of different Martial arts namely Filipino Martial Arts, Japanese Martial Arts , Korean Martial Arts, Boxing etc. The sheer brilliance of GM Chingi Grandeza to combine the Martial Arts he learned in his lifetime to include his years of research created the art called Gan Soo Do ( Grandeza Martial Arts). GM Chingi's perspective that Martial arts must evolve or the art by itself has to transmogrify since Martial Arts is a living art.

But be it known to everyone , if one wishes to learn , invest his time one should remember that Martial Arts is an artistic expression of a violent art. Thus, there is "No Price Tag" both for the repercussions & its benefits.

Despite GM Chingi's personal exploits in Martial Arts, he explicitly is grateful with the influences of the Korean & Japanese arts in Gan Soo Do as an art. GM Chingi's repertoire made Gan Soo Do a unique form of Filipino Martial Arts formulated by a Legendary Filipino Grandmaster.

✅️Martial Arts Background

A dedicated Martial Arts practitioner reinforced by a very supportive father the late Dean Valdez. 🙏

He started Martial Arts training with the
Blue Warrior Tang Soo Do from Grade 4 to College under the tutelage of Master Edgardo "Bing" Grandeza.👊

He was an active practitioner in Competitions and Demonstrations both in Sparring & Forms.

Back then, he was preparing and training for his Blackbelt Examination. Unfortunately, due to the stringent demand of his Medical School , Dr. Valdez was not able to take the Examination.

Nevertheless, on his spare time he was persistent with his personal development.
He even visits the gym to train his skills and techniques as a cpoing mechanism due to the significant demand of medical school.

In Gan Soo Do, there are requirements of "How one becomes a Blackbelt . " First and foremost is "Time in," as for Dr. Valdez, he was an active practitioner for 11 years. As required,
Dr. Valdez learned the 3 aspects of Gan Soo Do (1) Physical Art (2) Self Defense (3) Sports or Competition . Finally, the Moral & Mental Hygiene to be able to control oneself against sudden emotional violence. A no brainer for anyone who have known Dr. Valdez not just in Martial Arts but in his profession as well.

Having said that, Dr Valdez passed with flying Colors.

Dr. Valdez's Blackbelt Promotion in Gan Soo Do was awarded by no less than Grandmaster Casimiro "Chingi"Grandeza himself upon the recomendation of the CEO/President GSD Steve Grandeza and the GSD Screening Commitee / Board of Directors. 🇵🇭

A long overdue Promotion as a Gan Soo Blackbelt, for his dedication to the art and unwavering support to the organization for more than 30 Years of Training & Service.

In GSD, we value our student's accomplishments in their specific field.
A testimony of how Martial Arts, Gan Soo Do and Tang Soo Do philosophies, teachings, skills and training contributed to where they are right now.

In Gan Soo Do the barometer for a successful Martial Artist is the journey of how our product(s) developed oneself with integrity impacting others and finding fulfillment to the chosen field or profession.

Ultimately, putting into action the knowledge in Martial Arts/Gan Soo Do in their daily lives known as the "Action Philosophy ."GAN SOO DO AS A WAY OF LIFE.

As a backgrounder, DR. VALDEZ is my Senior and was my Instructor when I was a little boy. My intetaction with him during my formative years was a huge part of my foundation as a martial artist and as a fighter.

Currently, He is the Gan Soo Do Medical Consultant. He was also my personal medical consultant & adviser during my Professional Fights since 2008.
