The Local Youth Development Office will not be hindered from celebrating the Annual Linggo ng Kabataan. We are going indoor pickleball tournament instead!

The Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), in partnership with The Highgrounds Compound located at Brgy. Sto. Rosario, Iba, Zambales, introduces its Municipal-Wide Pickleball Open Skill Tournament and Kabataan Fair together with our fellow partners.

We are thrilled to invite all local pickleball enthusiasts to our Municipal-Wide Pickleball Open Skill Tournament with 16 slots available for every division and limited to ages 15 – 30 years old. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or just starting out, come showcase your skills, enjoy friendly competition, and connect with fellow residents.

Important Tournament Guidelines
Open Skill: This tournament welcomes players of all skill levels, from novices to advanced competitors.

Partner Pairing: Before the games begin, we will be holding a "bunutan" (draw lots) to determine your partner, ensuring a fun, balanced, and fair play experience for everyone!

Residency Requirement: Open exclusively to residents of Iba (Please bring your PhilSys ID or any Government issued ID or proof of residency for check-in).

This event is through the effort of the Local Government Unit of Iba headed by Municipal Mayor Irene Maniquiz-Binan and the Local Youth Development Office in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation and Local Youth Development Council Members.

Sponty community night with the ZPC OGs + friends. 🤍

Kahit biglaan, maulan, or whatever the weather decides to do, thank you guys for always being down. Always nice seeing the OGs still showing up and still making time for the community.

Love that over time, the circle keeps getting bigger, with old friends, new friends, and people from different homecourts coming together.

A quick officiating tip for our tournament organizers and volunteers. 👀

With more and more pickleball tournaments happening lately, it’s only natural that line disputes come up every now and then. It happens at every level of the sport.

As organizers ourselves, we just wanted to share a helpful reminder straight from the USA Pickleball Officiating Handbook (2021, Page 50) regarding line judge positioning.

One line that stood out says:

Having the correct perspective makes it much easier to determine whether there’s any space between the ball and the line, reducing the chance of incorrect calls caused by viewing angle or parallax.

For tournaments using line judges, the recommended assignment is:

Four Line Judges
• One on each baseline (2 total)
• One on each sideline (2 total)

Each line judge should focus only on their assigned line and be positioned so they have a clear, unobstructed view straight down that line.

We’re sharing this simply as a learning resource for fellow organizers, referees, line judges, and volunteers as we continue to grow the sport together.

Better positioning leads to better calls, and better calls lead to a better tournament experience for everyone. 💙
