Training-Workshop for Teachers on the Teaching of Reading & Children’s Lit

The 3-Day Training-Workshop for Teachers on the Teaching of Reading and Children's Literature comes to a close as the project team and the participants help each other in planning for actions to be taken specific to their target learners. This is not yet the end as the participants and project team will reconvene in December 2018 in a Summit to present their project proposals on reading programs for their schools as output.

Today, Ms. Maricel Diza inspired our participants from Marawi City by giving a talk about the national awardee Basa Kubo Project of Doña Juana Actub Lluch Memorial Central School. Our participants then got the chance to visit the Basa Kubo Project at Pala-o, Iligan City themselves. In the afternoon, Prof. Saturnina Rodil shared a talk on Framing Children's Literature with Peace Concepts.

Happening now: Participants ask questions and share their insights in an open forum after resource person Dr. Lerry Valdez delivers her talk entitled “Of Dinosaurs, Heffalumps and Battlestars.”

Happening now: The Training-Workshop for Teachers on the Teaching of Reading and Children's Literature commences with a self-mastery workshop facilitated by Assoc. Prof. Saturnina "Bebot" Rodil joined by teachers from elementary schools of Marawi City.

Project Update: Signing of MOU and MOA between MSU-IIT and Department of Education-Marawi City Division on July 25, 2018

Project Leader Prof. Michelle Caracut represents the Chancellor of MSU-IIT, Dr. Sukarno Tanggol in an initial meeting with DepEd Marawi for the planning of implementation of the Training-Workshop for Teachers on the Teaching of Reading and Children's Literature.
