According to the Philippine Statistics Authority's preliminary Fisheries Situation Report, aquaculture leads with 55.3% of total fisheries production. Marine municipal fisheries follow with 21.4%, commercial fisheries with 19.1%, and inland municipal fisheries with 4.1%. π
| Here is the volume of fisheries production by subsector for the 1st Quarter of 2024 (January to March 2024).
According to the preliminary Fisheries Situation Report prepared by the Philippine Statistics Authority, the aquaculture subsector constituted the biggest share to the total fisheries production with 546,396.70 MT, which is 55.3 percent of the total.
This is followed by the marine municipal fisheries subsector with 211,328.98 MT, equivalent to 21.4 percent share to the total volume.
Closely following is the commercial fisheries subsector with 188,917.68 MT. This is approximately 19.1 percent of the total volume.
Last is the inland municipal fisheries subsector with 40,550.33 MT, which is 4.1 percent of the total fisheries production.

9. Frigate tuna (Tulingan) - 72,856.43 MT
