What they may have lacked in size, they more than made up for in heart, a heart wide enough to cover the field,
Four losses, yes, if you look at the numbers. But in truth, there were no losses here. Each match was a victory of will, of children who showed up, gave their all, and reminded us that courage does not always come with a trophy. Their families, their school, and all of us who watched know what the scoreboard could not measure: their commitment, their grit, their love for the game.
Football, like life, is a long season, continuous, evolving, sometimes cruel, always instructive. These defeats are not endings; they are beginnings in disguise. From them will grow new muscles, not just physical but mental and spiritual, strong enough to carry them to the podium sooner than anyone expects.
So bravo to these young players who performed not only on the football field but on the greater stage of life: brave, daring, hopeful, determined to become better.
As Montaigne once wrote, there are some defeats more triumphant than victories.
