Whether you have experience or not, it's your opportunity to unleash your skills, talent, and build a strong foundation as an athlete or player with discipline. STRASUC OLYMPICS '24 UPDATE | Lady Green Ranger kicks SLSU’s 1st gold in women’s kumite

Blazing the trail for today’s competition, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) Lady Green Ranger Camille Joy Abragon claimed the team’s first gold medal in the women’s -50 kilogram individual kumite category of karate-do at the STRASUC Olympics 2024, Robinsons Mall, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Oct. 22.

Abragon bested Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) Lady Laker Sheryn Belen in the championship round of the said sports event, earning the silver medal.

STRASUC OLYMPICS '24 UPDATE | Lady Green Rangers clutch 2 silvers, 1 bronze in Karate-do

Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) Lady Green Rangers amassed two silvers and one bronze from the different categories of women’s Karate-do during the STRASUC Olympics 2024, Robinsons Mall, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Oct. 22.

After bagging the university’s first gold medal, Camille Joy Abragon also took the silver medal in the individual kata category.

Sophia Marie Ayapana added a silver medal in the individual -61 kilogram kumite and one bronze for the team kata category alongside Abragon and Mary Jeniel Pondivida.

Adding to the medal haul, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) Green Rangers bagged a silver and three bronze medals in men's Karate-do during the STRASUC Olympics 2024, Robinsons Mall, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Oct. 22.

Prince Jhun Macarulay earned the silver medal in individual 67-kilogram kumite category, while Bryan Perez and Von Jeferson Abitria both got the bronze medal in individual -75 kilogram and -84 kilogram kumite categories, respectively.

Abitria, Macarulay, and Dave Ero Lastimoso also showcased precision and coordination to capture the bronze medal in team kata category.

Following yesterday’s medal frenzy, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) Green Rangers recorded two more bronze medals in team categories of Karate-do, STRASUC Olympics 2024, Robinsons Mall, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Oct. 23.

Camille Joy Abragon, Sophia Marie Ayapana, and Mary Jeniel Pondivida secured the third seat in the team kumite category.

Von Abitria, Bryan Perez, Prince Macarulay, Roel De Castro, and Dave Lastimoso clasped the bronze medal in the kumite men’s team categories.

Ang aming buong team ay sobrang nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga nagbigay ng suporta. Unang una sa aming shihan Ramil Abragon at sensei Camille Abragon na walang sawang naglaan ng oras sa paglinang o pag-ensayo sa amin. Hindi namin matatamo ang aming medalya kundi dahil po sa inyo! 🥋🫡

Sa mga nagpaabot at nahingian namin ng tulong pinansyal na sadyang nakadagdag tulong sa aming mga gastusin sa aming paglaban: kay SK Chairman of Brgy. Daungan, SK Jericho Plata; SK Chairman of Brgy. Pinagbayanan, SK Franzhen Liyag; SK Chairman of Brgy. Bukal, SK Angelo Arriola.

Dagdag pa rito, sa mga professor na nagbigay ng suporta higit sa lahat sa aming sports director, ma'am Sonia Abustan at sa aming coach, ma'am Michelle Campita, sa mga head o dean ng aming mga iba't ibang department at sa student council ng aming mga department ( CTE, CAS, CIT, CEN ) at sa iba pang nagbigay suporta kahit sa simpleng moral support lamang ay ito'y lubhang nakadagdag o nagbigay motibasyon at inspirasyon din sa aming paglaban.

Maraming salamat po sa inyo at sana po ay patuloy niyo kaming suportahan sa aming mga susunod na laban!
