Food for thought regarding Friday's KICK-OFF: Beware of those who are there for the party but didn't want to do anything at all to save the field. Enjoy guys! ANIMO LA SALLE! ;)
I SAY NO TO THE DESTRUCTION OF DLSU-M'S FOOTBALL FIELD!!!
Not all erections are good. That is what those spearheading the project should remember.
KICKOFF: OCTOBER 1, 2010 - Coach Hans Smit is holding an event as a LAST HURRAH for our soon to be extinct football field. Be there! Let us make ourselves counted!

It looks like that no one can stop this monstrosity anymore. RIP, DLSU Football Field. Thanks for the memories, championships, and friendships that were built during your existence.
BREAKING NEWS: Apparently, the DLSU-Manila administration had pushed through with the project and already had made the ground-breaking ceremony. We mark tomorrow as the DLSU-MANILA FOOTBALL FIELD MEMORIAL DAY. Please WEAR BLACK at the game tomorrow. Let us be the first to call the Henry Sy, Sr. Building as DLS-NU and DLSM. This travesty CANNOT BE ALLOWED to happen.
We need to let the Admin know that MONEY is not the center of our La Sallian values. We were not raised to receive any donations without thinking about its implications and without consulting all stakeholders. We need to stand as one. Any suggestions for a campus wide campaign?
The support of the La Sallian community and non-lasallians here is overwhelming. We are now asking if anyone here is actually connected with Tapat or Santugon and even the DLSAA, please help us find the truth behind this issue. We need to get hold of evidences. If this is indeed true, we need to mobilize before the school year ends.
We have unconfirmed reports (in short, tsismis) that the new building will be funded by Henry Sy. A clean, straight-up, no strings attached donation. Can anyone actually confirm this?
We are now 4,500+ strong who believes that the DLSU Football Field is not just a mere piece of land that can be destroyed. The field holds a lot of memories both for current students and the alumni. Friendships were born on that field. Championships were built on that field. Education was gained on that field. The DLSU Football Field is just not a piece of land. It is a part of every Lasallian.
Here is a snippet of an article in Ang Pahayagang Plaridel, taken from a discussion board, revealing the current DLSU-M administration's plans of building a new structure to replace the football field. SAY NO TO THIS PLAN! Let us not ruin our centennial with another building.
Confirmed: A new building at the football field - PinoyExchange Confirmed: A new building at the football field De La Salle University
Instead of spending millions or even billions of pesos on the proposed new building on our football field, they should instead give the money to the One La Salle scholarship fund. The One La Salle Scholarship Fund is a noble cause to commemorate our centenary. Meeting the target or even exceeding it in 2011 will be a far more meaningful achievement to celebrate 100 years of La Salle in the Philippines.
Another new building in DLSU (take note, an unnecessary one) will trigger a higher tuition fee increase. The cost of operation of the school will skyrocket. They will try to compensate by either increasing the tuition fees or increasing the number of accepted students every year. Butas ang bulsa o butas ang quality ng ...edukasyon. Talo ang mga estudyante, pati ang mahal nating pamantasan, talo rin. JUST. SAY. NO!!!
spread the word and suggest this fan page to your friends. we need to be united and stand up as one la sallian community against this reckless decision to erect a new building on our football field and the complete disregard of the historical value of our football field.
