There was no other way for Mike Phillips to say goodbye. In his final dance on the UAAP stage, Big Mike did what he does best: outworked everyone, outjumped the giants, and poured every ounce of energy into the hardwood.

From securing the last Final Four slot to raising the 11th Men’s Basketball Trophy for De La Salle University, Mike’s leadership was the engine behind their 2nd title in 3 years. Ending a legendary career as a Finals MVP—the ultimate reward for the league’s hardest worker.

Thank you, Mike. You didn't just play for the name on the front; you became the heart of the school. 🏹🏆

The Script Nobody Saw Coming: The Season 88 Narrative 🏹

I. The Survival (The Rivalry) It began with their backs against the wall. To even see the postseason, they had to go through the blue shirts from Katipunan. In a win-or-go-home classic, the Green Archers outlasted the Blue Eagles to sn**ch the very last ticket to the dance. The "Cinderella Run" had a heartbeat, but the road ahead looked impossible.

II. The Giant Slayers (The Semi-Finals) Waiting for them was the top-seeded NU, a powerhouse that seemed untouchable. To make it to their third straight Finals, they didn’t just have to beat them—they had to beat them twice. With no room for error, La Salle played with a relentless "Mayhem" that shook the standings, toppling the giants back-to-back to punch our return ticket to the big stage.

III. The Trilogy (The Finals) Then came the Final Boss: UP. The third chapter of a storied trilogy. While the world expected a grind, the Archers brought a storm. Having dominated the head-to-head all season long, La Salle didn't just win the title—they commanded it.

IV. The Crowning Moment From the 4th seed to the podium. From "almost out" to "last ones standing." The slipper fit, the arrow found its mark, and the UAAP Season 88 trophy returns to Taft where it belongs.
