Jai Alai Building: Manila’s Art Deco Gem

Built in 1940, the Manila Jai Alai Building was one of the finest Art Deco structures in Asia, designed by American architect Welton Becket. Located along Taft Avenue, it housed a professional jai alai fronton (court) and quickly became a symbol of Manila’s modern lifestyle before World War II.

More than just a sports venue, it was a social and architectural icon, known for its thrilling matches and glamorous Sky Room gatherings. Though the building was demolished in 2000, its spirit still lives on in the hearts of those who remember.

📣 Let’s bring the legacy back!
