The scale says one thing but here's what I'm really noticing. Sometimes progress isn't about pounds.

16/01/2026

3 weeks ago, I almost started another crash diet.

You know the drill: Cut carbs. Extreme calorie deficit. No "bad" foods. Push through exhaustion. Suffer now, celebrate later.

I've done it before. Lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. Felt like I was dying. Gained 15 back in a month.

The cycle was exhausting. And I was about to do it again.

But this time, I chose different:
→ Eating enough to actually fuel my body and my life
→ Including foods I love in moderation (not eliminating entire groups)
→ Moving my body because I want to, not to "earn" food or punish myself
→ Resting when I'm tired instead of pushing through
→ Accepting slow progress over fast, unsustainable results

3 weeks in, here's what I'm noticing:
The scale has barely moved compared to crash diets. I'm not getting those dramatic quick wins.

But here's the thing—I'm not miserable either. I'm not obsessing over food. I'm not white-knuckling through cravings. I'm not exhausted. I'm not dreading every meal or workout.

I'm just... living. Making better choices most of the time. Enjoying my food. Moving my body. Resting when I need to.

I'm learning that sustainable isn't about speed.

It's about building something that doesn't fall apart the second life gets hard. It's about creating habits I can actually maintain when work gets stressful, when life happens, when motivation disappears.

Crash diets work fast. Sustainable change works forever.

And I'm done with fast. I'm choosing forever this time.

If you're tired of the yo-yo, tired of the all-or-nothing, tired of losing the same weight over and over—this is your permission to try something different.

Slower. Kinder. Sustainable.

You don't have to suffer to see results. You just have to be consistent and patient.

Have you tried both approaches? What did you learn? Drop your experience in the comments—I'd love to hear what's working (or not working) for you. 💙

I’ve tried before… but I stopped.
I started workouts before with plans and schedules and goals. At first, I got the results that I wanted but then I started to plateau. I started missing workouts because of weather and life in general. I failed and I restarted and then I just stopped getting the results. I started to become inconsistent with workouts and diet until I just stopped.
I had a conversation with my mom last year. There was really no major health scare but just an honest conversation about our health when we grow older and it made me realize, I want to work out and have healthier choices more for my health rather than lose the numbers.
This year is about building sustainable habits and becoming consistent.
If you have been restarting every year, we are on the same journey so make sure to follow for more.

Here we go again.
Oo, ulit na naman. 😅

Hindi ‘to yung first time na nagsimula ako.
At hindi rin ‘to yung first time na huminto.
Pero every restart may dalang aral.

Goal: Start and make sure I continue
Paano? With sustainable activities so ngayon, I am just making it simple. No second servings, I either run or walk everyday except Sundays para lang may rest day.

Shina-share ko ‘to hindi dahil confident na ‘ko,
kundi dahil gusto kong maging honest.
Na minsan mahirap, minsan tinatamad,
but I still choose to show up (kahapon na nga lang eh, muntik na pero push pa rin and wow, imbis na lakad lang, tumakbo ako, weeeeee)

Para sa mga kagaya kong ilang beses nang nag-restart, jusme, OK lang yan. Hindi ka napag-iwanan, hindi ka loser. You're just starting over and OK na yun kesa yung walang ginawa.

Here’s to starting where we are
and staying long enough to see it through. 💪✨

I'm restarting my fitness journey. No target weights, just be consistent. 🥴

3 Tips to Stay Consistent (Without Burning Out)

1. Start smaller than you think you should.
If you think you can do daily, start with 3x a week.
If you think you can do 30 minutes, start with 15.
Consistency comes from sustainability, not intensity.

2. Set a bare minimum version of your habit.
This is your non-negotiable tiny version like 5 minutes of stretching, 10 minute walk. On low-energy days, this keeps the rhythm alive.

3. Protect your recovery like it's part of the plan.
Rest is not laziness, it's fuel. Schedule down time, sleep and slow days.

Consistency isn’t repetition — it’s resilience.
Some days it’s a full workout, some days it’s just lacing up. Both count. 💪
