More than just a first climb, it’s the beginning of every mountaineer’s story. The first summit that tested our legs, humbled our spirits, and showed us that growth often starts outside our comfort zones. 🌿🥾

Like our mothers, our mother mountains welcomed us with both gentleness and challenge. They witnessed our hesitant first steps, heard our endless complaints on the trail, and reminded us that every ascent is a lesson in courage, perseverance, and trust. 💪🌄

Our first peaks may not have been the tallest, but they became the foundations of who we are today as climbers. They taught us to keep moving forward even when the trail gets steep, to appreciate every pause, and to find beauty in both the struggle and the summit. 👣

And just like a mother’s love, the mountains have a way of grounding us while helping us rise higher. ❤️

Our adventurers took on a 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗲, conquering three peaks! From blazing trails to breathtaking sunrise views— 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝟓𝟖 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬.🌈

They embodied the true heart of a mountaineer— enduring every challenge and embracing every moment the mountain offers.🥾🌿

Though the footprints we leave on the trail will eventually wash away, the stories, memories, and bonds we’ve built will last a lifetime.🤝

This is just the beginning of a lifelong journey of exploration and purpose.✨️

⛰️ 𝗨𝗣𝗟𝗕 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟱𝟴 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗲 🌿

Under the canopy of trees and along the winding forest paths, our applicants spent their Sunday discovering what it truly means to be on the trail.

The hike was more than just a walk through the mountains. It was a day of 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 along the way. From steady climbs to well-earned rests, every step brought them closer to understanding the rhythm of the mountains.

Experiences like these remind us that mountaineering is built not only on strength, but also on 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲.

And while this hike may have ended at the trailhead, the journey of our applicants is far from over. Ahead lies the challenge of their 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗲, where the lessons from this day will guide them further into the mountains.

The journey to the mountains begins with a single step, and last Saturday, our applicants took theirs.

Through winding trails, shared laughter, and the steady rhythm of boots against the earth, our aspiring mountaineers experienced their 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹. The dayhike served as an introduction to the fundamentals of moving through the mountains: 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, and 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.

But this is only the 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. 🌄

As part of their journey with the organization, the applicants will soon take on a 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗲, where endurance, preparation, and camaraderie will be tested even further. The mountains have many lessons to teach, and each step forward brings new growth, new challenges, and new stories to tell.

For now, we celebrate the memories from this first climb, moments of 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, and the 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 shared on the trail.

At 64, Lola Doris showed everyone that you are never too old to reach the top. She took on the Speed Climb Challenge and proved that grit has no age limit.
