This was a weekend escape that rewarded preparation.

Two days. Three rides. Bags on, bags off, then bags back on.

Not an easy route, but a very good day to be on the bike — the kind where the effort fades into the background and the conditions take over the story.

Overcast skies, light drizzle near the mountain tops, cold air up in the Sierra — a brief but welcome window that slowed us down in the best way.

Good to see the Aboitiz Renewables president, Jim, riding with the team — finding his reset the same way the rest of us do, on the road, at the same pace, in the same weather.

Felt like a quiet Christmas ride.

AUDAX Subic 2025 — Aboitiz Renewables x ATC Rides 🚴‍♂️⚡️

A great day at Audax Subic for the Aboitiz Renewables team, together with friends from ATC Rides. Except for RR who was on his second Audax, everyone — including Ed — was a first-timer in their respective distance. And we’re proud to share that both the 100 km and 200 km groups finished strong.

100 km Group ( EG, Lexy & Irene)

Smooth pacing, relaxed rhythm, and a confident roll to the finish — a solid first Audax experience for the team.

200 km Group (Ed, Richard, RR, Miguel, JV & Kevin, with friends PJ and Allan)

A long, honest route even for returning riders, yet the group kept a sustainable pace, supported one another, and finished well.

We’re grateful for the strength and the safe day our Creator allowed us to share on the road.

Michael Acosta dropped by today — a seasoned ultra-endurance rider who has finished some of the world’s toughest long-distance events, including 1001 Miglia Italia (1,600 km, ~18,000m of climbing), one of the crown jewels of global randonneuring.

He’ll be in Subic this weekend for the Audax events, rolling on his trusted Chiru Vagus — a titanium all-terrain endurance platform built for mixed surfaces, ultra-distance efficiency, and comfort on long days in the saddle.
