21-year-old Rydelle Abarico secured her first international Gold medal after she dominated the Womens Finals at the Thailand Tropical Downhill Skateboarding Competition held in Khao E-to, Prachinburi District, November 25-26.
Hailing from Alegria, Surigao del Norte, Abarico, a 2019 SEA Games bronze medalist and current World #5, showcased her downhill prowess, finishing atop the leaderboard with a best run time of 1 minute and 39.284 seconds during the qualifying rounds.
In a fierce competition, Thailand's Mp Nawapan Aung-insombut and China's Xiaoling Peng secured the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Claiming the top spot, Abarico won a grand prize of 25,000 Thai Baht.
