Bringing pride and honor to the university, the team composed of 𝗝𝘂𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗮, 𝗞𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗮, 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿, 𝗥𝗲𝘅 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹, and 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗼 emerged as 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡 in the 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 (𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴) category with their project titled, “𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗚𝗔 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗽: 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗽,” under the guidance of their project adviser, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗕. 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀.

Adding to this remarkable achievement, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗟. 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘆 was awarded 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿-𝗨𝗽 in the 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹) category for their research titled “𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀: 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 – 𝗔 𝗪𝗲𝗯-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿.” He served as co-author of the study and represented the team as its sole delegate during the competition.

These accomplishments reflect the dedication, creativity, and passion of our PetEs and mentors in contributing meaningful and sustainable innovations aligned with today’s evolving energy and technological landscape.

Our third speaker is Engr. 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗟. 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗜𝗜, a petroleum engineering professional with extensive experience in offshore operations, drilling engineering, and HSSE management in the Philippine energy industry.

Currently serving as a 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗡𝗢𝗖 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, Engr. Tagata has built a strong career in offshore operations and energy production through years of experience in both engineering and safety roles. Prior to his current position, he worked as an 𝗛𝗦𝗦𝗘 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗡𝗢𝗖 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, an 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗦𝗦𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and a 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 under the Western Command and Joint Task Force Malampaya.

A graduate of Palawan State University, with a degree in Petroleum Engineering, Engr. Tagata has gained valuable expertise in offshore production platforms, operational safety, and energy security initiatives. His professional journey reflects dedication, adaptability, and commitment to advancing the country’s energy sector.
