Maria de Leon, the daughter of a Filipina nanny, graduated with honors from Harvard University as a full scholar.

She earned her degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, carrying with her the sacrifices of her mother, Jojit, who worked multiple jobs in the United States to support Maria and her siblings. 

Her journey is a reminder that a parent’s hard work, a child’s determination, and the courage to keep trying can open doors that once seemed far away.

Bela Magtibay emerged victorious in the Women’s 200m Breaststroke event at the Smart-PAI National Tryouts, powering to the gold medal with a time of 2:47.60.

Sealtiel Cherrie Daiz II delivered a strong swim to secure the silver medal in 2:51.85, while Shinloah Yve San Diego claimed bronze after touching the wall in 2:52.30.
