Congratulations to U21 national athlete from Solas, Cherry, for winning the bronze medal at the Asian Youth Championship 2026! This is Cherry’s 1st international competition and we are so proud of her great performance, representing not just our club but our country.

Thank you to all her coaches and teammates and support system for helping her prepare for the competition. Thank you, for sponsoring her strength and conditioning training. Special thanks to and for securing the funding for her to join this competition! This really meant so much!

Our Solas athletes part of the youth national team did an incredible job at the 2026 Asian Youth Championships in the U16 and U18 divisions. It’s great to see the clear progress with new milestones achieved: Jin and Sean reaching the finals and winning silver medals. Mara is bringing home a bronze medal, beating an opponent that beat her in the previous edition of the event.

Our guest athletes Chris and Gianna from essential jiujitsu won a bronze (Chris) and a gold (Gianna) medal with a great performance on their first time joining the team.

Congratulations, team, and thank you to everyone that continues to support our athletes!

We congratulate as well the entire youth national team for an amazing finish winning 3rd overall for the event.

Still coming up are Cherry joining the U21 division and Santino joining the adult division in the coming days.

Let’s go team PH! Laban πŸ‡΅πŸ‡

Great performance and result, Pax and Jin! πŸ’―

We considered this competition as part of their preparations for their upcoming international competitions and we are so happy about them being able to execute their gameplan and have more data to continue fine-tuning their games. It's amazing to see the consistent progress of our athletes, with incremental improvements every single time. Soon we will see their work get tested in the international stage and we are so excited. It's not just about what result will come but how they continue to develop and mature into the athletes they aspire to be.

Thank you to everyone that continues to support our team on and off the mats!

Pan Asians 2026: COURAGE and PROGRESS

These were the two things our athletes displayed today. We are so proud of everyone that hit their performance-based goals showing significant improvement from their previous competitions.

Special mention to our athletes who displayed so much courage fighting 3 weight divisions above their regular weight (one of which was even a first timer) and even a belt division higher just so they could fight.

This year was also a much better result than last year's Pan Asians, with more than twice the number of medals and twice the number of golds.

Lots to be grateful for, but lots to be done still! We are looking forward to every part of the process, knowing how much room for growth there is for the team.

Congratulations, everyone! Thank you to our community and support system as well for coming over to watch and for helping our athletes prepare for this competition. This truly was a team effort! πŸ’―

Milestone for our team! πŸ’―

Coach Meggie received her first degree on her black belt from Professor Mike Calimbas, a very well-respected Fil-Am Jiujitsu personality from the US who is passionate about contributing to the development of Jiujitsu in the Philippines by supporting grassroots initiatives through the Groundwork Foundation.

Coach Meggie and Professor Mike both share the values of using jiujitsu to benefit others and it truly is an honor for us at Solas Jiujitsu for our Head Coach to be promoted by such a genuine and generous professor. We sincerely thank you, Professor Mike! Congratulations, Coach Meggie!
