UNPLAYABLE KRAKEN?

Despite starting in the last 4 games of Gilas Pilipinas, Jun Mar Fajardo played sparingly (11.6 mins) in games against IRQ, KSA and AUS. This was below his 17 mins average in the first 2 Gilas games.

Many point out his lack of defense that offsets his contribution offensively. Most teams attacked him in pick and roll coverage with JMF looking to sag off on the ball handler, presenting an uncontested shot as the recovering defender failed to navigate towards the screen.

With that in line, is it time for the Kraken to step away from national team duties? Or is it coaching that dimmed his chances to contribute positively?

Can Kevin Quiambao transition into international Point Guard?

Triple-double machine, inside and out operator, and arguably the best passing big the UAAP has ever seen, that’s what the MVP frontrunner Kevin Quiambao cemented this season. But with the continuous evolution of International Ball, can KQ fill the point guard role in his return to Gilas?

At 6’6”, depending on sources, Quiambao’s size fits the criteria of a guard in NBA and European settings. It also helps that his a natural playmaker and has improved tremendously in decision-making and perimeter creation.

He is also transforming into a superstar with DLSU, and with his lofty projection, being a point guard is currently up for grabs.
