Have you ever wondered why some people gain muscle quickly, while others struggle to put on weight or lose body fat?
One way to understand this is through body types, also known as somatotypes. While no one fits perfectly into a single category, most people share characteristics of these three common body types:
✅ ECTOMORPH
Naturally lean with a faster metabolism. Ectomorphs often find it challenging to gain weight and muscle mass.
✅ MESOMORPH
Naturally athletic with a muscular frame. Mesomorphs generally gain muscle and strength more easily and respond well to resistance training.
✅ ENDOMORPH
Typically have a larger frame and may store body fat more easily. Endomorphs often excel in strength-focused activities but may need to pay closer attention to nutrition and activity levels.
Remember: your body type is not a limitation—it’s simply a starting point. Consistent training, proper nutrition, quality sleep, and recovery play a much bigger role in achieving your fitness goals than genetics alone.
Understanding how you’re built can help you train smarter, set realistic expectations, and create a fitness plan that works best for you.
