As the 5th Cebu Open Karate Championship and the Sandugo Tigi Karatedo Invitational Open Championship 2026 officially conclude, the medals earned by our SSKI-JKS athletes have now been added to their respective ranking points, reflecting the dedication, perseverance, and hard work they have shown throughout the competition season.

Congratulations to all athletes who secured a place in the Top 10 rankings. Your commitment, discipline, and determination have truly paid off. Continue striving for excellence while remaining humble in both victory and defeat.

To those who have not yet reached the rankings, remember that every competition is an opportunity to grow. Continue training with dedication, compete with courage, and apply the lessons you have gained from every tournament you have joined. Rankings and medals are rewarding, but they do not define your potential as martial artists.

Always remember that losing is a part of every athlete's journey. It should never discourage you from pursuing your goals or diminish your passion for the sport. What truly matters is the experience you gain, the confidence you build, the character you develop, and the lessons that will continue to shape you into a stronger and better karateka. Keep moving forward, trust the process, and never stop improving. Ossu!

Sandugo 2026 🥋🏅 — together, we brought home 81 MEDALS
🥇40 Golds
🥈 23 Silvers
🥉 18 Bronze

Every match we fought, every point we earned, and every medal we carry is a result of our shared discipline, sacrifices, and teamwork. From early trainings to stepping on the mat, we pushed each other to be stronger, better, and braver.

Through every win and loss, we stood as one—learning, growing, and lifting each other up. This journey wasn’t easy, but it’s one we’re proud to share together.

To our coaches, thank you for your guidance, patience, and for believing in us every step of the way.
To this team, this is more than just medals—it’s the bond, the memories, and the heart we put into every fight.

Proud of what we’ve achieved, and even more excited for what’s ahead. 🥋🔥

🥋 Welcome to Panglao!🥋

The journey begins here.

Delegations from different parts of the Philippines have officially arrived for the Sandugo Tigi Karatedo Championship 2026, bringing with them months of preparation, dedication, and passion for the sport. Tomorrow, the tatami will be more than just a competition venue—it will be a place where respect is earned, friendships are built, and the true spirit of karate shines through.

To ensure everyone's comfort during the tournament, our Boholano athletes will be accommodated at Looc Elementary School, while our visiting delegates from outside the province will be staying at Central East Elementary School.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the administrators, faculty, and staff of both schools for graciously welcoming our athletes. Your generosity and support have helped make this championship possible, and we are truly grateful for your kindness and hospitality.

To all athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters, welcome to Panglao! We hope this weekend brings memorable matches, meaningful friendships, and experiences that will stay with you long after the tournament ends.

Safe matches, best of luck to everyone, and may the best of karate be seen on the mats. Osu! 🥋🇵🇭

A productive day of learning and growth for the karate community.

Today, July 18, 2026, karate coaches, referees, and practitioners from different parts of the Philippines gathered at the Panglao Gymnasium for the seminar, KPI Licensing for both Technicals and Coaches. The seminar was led by Sir Chino Veguillas, Chairman of the Referee Commission, who shared his knowledge and experience to help participants further develop their skills and understanding of their roles in the sport.

Victory isn't always measured by the number of medals we bring home, but by the courage to keep showing up despite every challenge along the way. Despite the long journey, the delayed start of the event, and competing under a compressed schedule due to the mall's operating hours, SSKI-JKS Tagbilaran City stood its ground with discipline, courage, and unwavering determination. Their perseverance was rewarded with an outstanding achievement of 5 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, and 15 Bronze Medals.

Although the tournament did not unfold exactly as hoped and some expectations were left unmet, the team embraced both victory and defeat with humility. Every match became a lesson, every setback became motivation, and every medal—regardless of its color—served as a reminder that success is built through resilience, hard work, and character. But beyond the podium, we also gained something even more valuable—experience, lessons, and a stronger mindset.

To all our athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters—thank you for representing our dojo with honor and humility. Congratulations on a job well done. Keep your heads high, continue training with purpose, and come back stronger than ever.

This journey doesn't end here. We go back to training, carrying our victories with pride, our defeats with grace, and our eyes fixed on the next challenge. SSKI-JKS Tagbilaran City now looks forward to the Sandugo Tigi Karatedo Championship 2026, happening on July 18–19 in Panglao, Bohol.

The Bohol United Karatedo successfully conducted a Refresher Course today, July 5, 2026, at the SSKI-JKS Tagbilaran Headquarters, under the leadership of Shihan Sonny D. Alvarez. The activity was attended by instructors and senseis from various karate clubs across the province of Bohol.

The activity was organized to strengthen and enhance the competencies of the technical officials in preparation for the upcoming KPI Licensing, which will be held in Panglao, Bohol, on July 18, 2026, in conjunction with the Sandugo Tigi Karatedo Championship Event 2026. The event is expected to gather highly skilled athletes from different parts of the Philippines.

The program was made more effective and successful through the active participation of the athletes who volunteered during the training sessions, serving as performers and participants for judging and evaluation exercises. Their contribution played a significant role in providing practical experience and ensuring the effectiveness of the course.
