My 1st Philippine Beyblade Battle League experience!
It was my daughter's 1st birthday the day before ng PBBL. Kahit puyat at pagod sa pag-aasikaso, hindi ako nakatulog ng gabing yun! Super excited na lumaro na para bang pakiramdam mo nung bata ka na alam mong may field trip kayo bukas haha ganun.
Finally the day came... My very 1st official PBBL game was about to start! My teammates as well as my other friends from different teams (YB & ExU) cheered me up while going to the battle area! It fired me up, my competitive spirit was so high at that time.
I took the risk of using a ripcord instead of my usual string launcher even though I only tried it once in a casual tournament because I knew it would increase my max RPM.
The battle started and I got an early 3pt advantage, extreme finishing my opponent’s bey. 2nd round and I made a mistake which in hindsight I kinda knew would have a different result if I didn't soft launch my Wizard Rod. Panalo na sana kung naka spin finish, but luck wasn't on my side that time. My WiRo got extreme finished as well. The score was tied at 3-3. For the 3rd rd I brought out my favorite & reliable bey, My CDG! Gigil sa pagkatalo last round and facing a WiRo this time, I hard launched my CDG and guess what? I self-extremed my CDG hahaha. I lost. Sayang, super sayang! Until now that match haunts me, andaming WHAT IFs 😂.
Our captain decided not to bench me for the 2nd battle. Got an early 2pt advantage as I pocketed my opponent’s bey on the 1st rd. Then the same story unfolded for my CDG! I self-pocketed 2 times straight using my CDG and I lost again.
I had no idea what was up with my CDG. My most reliable bey was giving me a really hard time. I was benched for all the remaining matches until it was our turn to battle with Team ExU.
Our Captain and Vice Captain decided to send me in again 1 last time, but now as the 5th man. The battle commenced, the score was tied at 2-2 for Team Yappie and ExU. As the 5th blader it was my duty to secure the win for our team kaya grabeng pressure na naman ang naramdaman ko.
Before heading to the battle area inisip ko na lang ang sinabi nila na "Isipin mo lang nasa Hana Coffee ka, sa Lipa ka naglalaro at sila palagi kalaro mo doon". Then I thought of the reason why they placed me at the 5th spot. "Tiwala pa rin sila siguro sakin na kaya ko".
Hindi ko na tanda ang bawat round pero we were tied at 2pts each ng kalaban ko. Then, a sudden turnaround. My CDG who kept giving me a hard time finally activated and came in clutch at that time by pocketing my opponent's bey and making me the winner of the 5th match!
Yung CDG ko na nagtiwala pa rin ako at mga teammates ko na hindi ko na palitan, s'ya pa rin ang nagdeliver ng panalo sa amin!
My personal standing is 1W-2L. It was not the result I hoped for my PBBL debut but it was really really fun and memorable for me. Yung pressure, yung suportahan, yung pagkakaibigan, yung laro.
