We’ve just finished reading Dr Haifaa’s book "Builders of a Nation". It was a beautiful read, one I’m sure I’ll be returning to as a resource for my Islamic classes and to share with my daughters as they grow older, insha Allah.

🎉 Today marks 3 years of The Reading Nest, Alhumdulillah!

The Reading Nest was the first of its kind virtual book club for Muslim women exclusively centered on the genres of self-help, Islamic spirituality, and psychology. 🤍

TRN allows us to work on our personal development, emotional wellbeing, and spirituality together in a way that feels manageable even with a busy schedule (our book club meetings are held fortnightly) while also giving us a sisterhood where we can finally take off the masks and show up as our authentic selves.

TRN is also very close to my heart because of the comfort it provided during my husband’s long cancer appointments in which I’d often take our book club pick along and later discuss my reflections with the girls. ❤️‍🩹

So to mark this special milestone, I’ve compiled all our 20 book club picks over the years into one big recommendations list. These reads will change the way you heal, parent, love and grow as a Muslim woman, insha Allah.

I've been speaking to some girls about what Umrah was like for me first with my ill husband, and then twice as a solo mom with my two kids in tow.

I realized there's a lot of anxiety and worry about how to manage this beautiful journey if you take your children along.

For a lot of families, they leave children behind or delay going for Umrah only because they think they won't be able to handle taking them.

So I thought I'd put together all of the tips that made my Umrah trips with young children significantly easier and smoother, Alhumdulillah.
