Pakistan has issued visas to Indian journalists for coverage of the ICC Champions Trophy, set to commence on February 19 in Karachi.
This follows India’s denial of visas to Pakistani reporters for the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which led to a protest from the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The tournament will feature teams from Pakistan, India, New Zealand, England, Australia, Afghanistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh, with the final scheduled for March 9.
Pakistan has implemented extensive security measures, deploying over 20,000 troops to ensure a safe event.

The ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 returns after seven years, with Pakistan and the UAE hosting from February 19. The winner will receive $2.24 million (over PKR 78 crore), while the runner-up gets $1.12 million, from a total prize pool of $6.9 million.
Each group stage win earns $34,000, while all eight teams are guaranteed $125,000. This marks Pakistan's first ICC event since 1996, with eight teams competing in two groups, aiming for the semi-finals.
The tournament will now be held every four years, with the Women's Champions Trophy debuting in 2027. The defending champions face New Zealand in Karachi on February 19, followed by a thrilling India-Pakistan clash in Dubai on February 23.
