On the second day of a soul-stirring art exhibition at the PNCA, Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training Ms. Rabia Naseem Farooqi and Parliamentary Secretary for Culture Ms. Farah Naz Akbar came together to honor the exceptional creativity of female students with hearing impairments. The visit commenced with a warm welcome from the Director General of Special Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Pakistan, who briefed the delegates on the department’s tireless dedication to nurturing the specialized vocational talents and artistic skills of these remarkable students.
Impressed by the depth of the work on display, Ms. Rabia Naseem Farooqi engaged directly with the young artists, offering heartfelt praise for their unique visual narratives and technical mastery. DGSE & Taleem Foundation Join Hands to Strengthen Inclusive Education in ICT
Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qadir, Senior Ex-Bureaucrat and Founding Chairman of Taleem Foundation, visited the office of the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE) today, Wednesday, 29th April 2026. He was accompanied by Head of Field Operations, Ms. Shugufta Noreen.
The visit focused on exploring potential avenues of collaboration between Taleem Foundation and DGSE, particularly in the field of EdTech, to enhance service delivery for children with disabilities in ICT.
During the meeting, Director Administration Ms. Asna Aziz provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing revamping initiatives of special education centres, being undertaken under the visionary leadership of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT). She also highlighted the approved roadmap for strengthening special education in ICT, as endorsed by the Federal Secretary FEPT.
It was agreed that Taleem Foundation will share its published educational materials and digital content with DGSE, which will be transformed into accessible formats to better support children with disabilities. The Foundation will also contribute to capacity building of teachers through targeted support initiatives.
Furthermore, orientation visits to special education centres are planned for the coming week to advance this collaborative effort.
This engagement marks a step forward in leveraging innovation and partnerships to promote inclusive learning environment for CWDs of DGSE in particular and mainstream educational setups in general.

Strengthening Collaboration for Life Skills Based Education (LSBE)
Today, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, on the directions of the Federal Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, a meeting was held at the Head Office of the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE) to strengthen collaboration on Life Skills Based Education (LSBE) for children with disabilities, in partnership with UNFPA and ACT International.
The meeting was chaired by Mrs. Asna Aziz, Director (Administration), DGSE, and brought together key stakeholders including representatives from UNFPA, ACT International, and special education experts. Participants included Ms. Zahra Jabeen (Program Analyst, UNFPA), Ms. Nadia Riasat (Project Manger, ACT), Mr. Ghazanfar Ali Khan (Training & Education Specialist), Mr. Hameed Ullah Satti (LSBE Specialist), along with Social Education consultants and DGSE officers.
The session featured:
✨ A pictorial orientation of DGSE’s Service Delivery Centres
✨ A presentation by UNFPA & ACT International showcasing LSBE initiatives across provinces
✨ Presenting and gifting a valuable set of LSBE resource materials to DGSE to review and reflect upon for future integration
As a way forward, UNFPA and ACT International, in collaboration with DGSE, will undertake joint on-site visits to all five Special Education Service Delivery Centres for comprehensive need assessment.
It has been mutually agreed that the upcoming summer break will be strategically utilized for:
✔️ Capacity building of teachers
✔️ Strengthening parental engagement
✔️ Organizing student-centered summer camps focused on LSBE thematic areas
This collaboration marks a significant step towards promoting inclusive, life skills based education, empowering children and adolescents with disabilities in daily lives.
