There are two types of Diabetic mellitus. Type 1 & Type 2. Type 1 is insulin-dependent diabetes where body's immune system destroys insulin producing cells & insulin needs to be injected into the bloodstream.
Type 2 is non-insulin dependent diabetes where the body doesn't produce enough insulin which can overcome by diet, exercise or oral medications. So insulin injections aren't needed to control blood glucose levels.
