Alhamdulillah! A Great Achievement by the GCU Badminton Club
Alhamdulillah, we are proud to share a remarkable achievement of the Badminton Club of Government College University Lahore. This year, the club secured the Lahore Board Inter-Collegiate Championship 2026, marking a significant milestone in its sporting excellence.
We are especially delighted that three of our top players β Abdul Rehman Shaikh, Tayyab Subhani, and Husain Shehzad β were selected in the Lahore Board Team, qualified for the Pakistan Board, and represented with excellence. Alhamdulillah, they went on to win the Pakistan Board Championship with a commanding lead in games, bringing great pride and honor.

A proud moment for Government College University Lahore as the university hockey team secured a thrilling 4β2 victory against University of Management and Technology (UMT) in the 4 Corps Inter-University Hockey Championship.
The match showcased excellent teamwork and determination from the GCU players. Saad Shafique delivered an outstanding performance by scoring two brilliant goals and was deservedly declared Man of the Match. π

GCU Lahore Menβs Hockey Team made an impressive start in the 4 Crops Inter University/College Hockey Championship 2026 in Lahore by securing a thrilling 4β2 victory against UMT, marking the first win for GCU in the tournament. ππ
In the womenβs category, the GCU Womenβs Hockey Team also faced UMT in their opening match. Despite a spirited effort, the team unfortunately lost the match but showed great determination and sportsmanship. π

The Celebration Ceremony of the successful conduct of the 125th Annual Sports 2026 at Government College University Lahore was held with great enthusiasm and pride.
On this special occasion, the Organizing Secretary, Hafiz Muhammad Safdar, was awarded a shield by the Director Sports in recognition of his outstanding efforts and dedicated leadership in successfully organizing the prestigious event. His commitment and hard work were widely appreciated by the university administration and participants alike.
During the ceremony, Hafiz Muhammad Safdar formally handed over the ceremonial baton to the Organizing Secretary of the upcoming 126th Annual Sports 2027, Mr. Qadir Abdullah, symbolizing the continuation of this proud sporting tradition. He extended his heartfelt best wishes to Mr. Qadir for the successful organization of the next Annual Sports and expressed confidence that the legacy of excellence will continue.

We are deeply saddened to share that Col (R) Sajid Baseer, a distinguished Old Ravian and eminent sportsman of Government College University Lahore, has passed away due to cardiac arrest.
His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held, InshaβAllah, on Thursday, 19th February, after Zohar prayers at 114-H, Model Town, Lahore.
The Vice Chancellor of Government College University Lahore, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Choudhury, along with the Directorate of Sports, expresses profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences on this great loss to the field of sports and to the Ravian community. His services and contributions will always be remembered with respect and gratitude.
May Allah Almighty grant him Maghfarat, elevate his ranks in Jannah, and grant patience to the bereaved family. Ameen.

Government College University Lahore secured a convincing victory over Forman Christian College in the semifinal of the HEC Zone F Cricket Championship.
After winning the toss, GCU Lahore opted to bat first and posted a formidable total of 269 runs in 40 overs. Faiz Mughal led the charge with a knock of 114 runs, anchoring the innings with confidence and class.
In response, FCCU struggled against GCUβs disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 148 runs, falling well short of the target.
With this dominant performance, GCU Lahore marches into the final with strong momentum and high spirits. π

GCU Lahore dominated from the outset, racing to a 3-0 lead in the first half with an impressive display of attacking football and solid defense. Continuing their momentum in the second half, they added one more goal to seal a comprehensive 4-0 victory.
