We're on a mission to bring back the magic of puppetry and use it to spread peace and harmony!
🌟 Our project, Aman Putliyan (Puppetry for Peace), is all about reviving this beautiful art and passing it on to the next generation.
I recently met with some incredibly passionate puppet trainers in Lahore, and we organized a workshop where 10 students learned the basics of puppetry. They made their own sock puppets and discovered how to bring stories to life with different voices and engaging narratives.
It's amazing to think that something as simple as puppetry can bring people together and inspire kindness.
We're excited to see where this journey takes us and hope you'll join us in reviving this timeless art form! 🎭💖

Consent Zarori hai - Lahore session
According to a report by Girls Not Brides, child marriage is still a prevalent issue in Pakistan, with 1 in every 3 girls married before the age of 18.
In a world where girls are often told to shrink themselves, the “Consent Zarori Hai” project by Amplify Feminism, a program of Dastak Foundation, is making a positive impact in Lahore. Over two sessions held at Girls Government High School and Girls Government Comprehensive High School in Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore, 70 girls from grades 6, 9, and 10 participated in engaging activities led by Dr. Sadia Khalid.
These sessions focused on a critical message: consent is essential. This campaign is led by Dr Sadia Khalid.
One participant powerfully stated, “Yes, I am a girl, and I am no more vulnerable or afraid of people. I have all the rights, and no one can harm me against my will.”
Another girl shared a personal story, “My family wants me to get married with my cousin, but I clearly conveyed that Marriage before 18 years is a criminal offense and I am not ready for this.”
This is the change we need to see! The “Consent Zarori Hai” program is equipping young girls with the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves and fight for their rights.

🌟 Introducing the "Consent Education for Teen Girls in Pakistan" Project
It is crucial to educate young girls about consent. That's why we're launching our project, focusing on teenage girls in schools. We want to empower them with the knowledge and skills to navigate consent confidently.
By doing so, we aim to create a safe and respectful environment for everyone. In Pakistan, discussing consent openly is challenging, but we're determined to make a change.
Support our efforts to empower teenage girls, foster respect, and build a society where consent is valued in every relationship.

They understand that plastic pollution threatens not only the cleanliness of their neighborhoods but also the survival of forests and the incredible biodiversity that relies on them.
Determined to protect the planet, they lead by example, reducing their own plastic use and encouraging others to do the same. Through their efforts, they transform their communities regardless of their religious beliefs, to be on one page.
Ayesha, Geeta, David, and Guruveer show us the power of collective action and remind us that by standing up against plastic pollution, we can create a better future—one that cherishes our planet, protects our forests, and ensures the survival of our precious biodiversity.

Thank you HIVE Pakistan for giving me an opportunity to interact with the three teams of " Young Cities Fellows" working on youth political participation to learn about running an effective social media campaign.
It is important to learn about social media campaigns because social media has become an integral part of our daily lives and is a powerful tool for reaching a large audience quickly and effectively.
All the participants were shown active participation and great interest to create their social media campaigns with more effective social media strategies to create bigger impact in a society .
