FG/Asean clinch 14th Lahore Open Polo Championship with sudden-death win over Diamond Paints
Team FG/Asean lifted the 14th Lahore Open Polo Championship 2025 – Patrons Cup after edging out Diamond Paints 8-7 in a thrilling sudden-death extra-time final at the Lahore Polo Club.
A large number of spectators and families turned up to witness the grand final of the prestigious championship. Distinguished guests included Diamond Paints CEO Mir Shoaib Ahmed, Master Paints Director Sufi Muhammad Haroon, Black Horse Paints CEO Chaudhry Muhammad Siddique, Guard Group Director Taimur Ali Malik, Newage Cables Director Adnan Jalil Azam, Re*****on Pharma Director Dr Faisal Qadeer Khokhar, The Retrieve Bar CEO Nafees Barry, Babar Naseem, AOS Director Hamza Ali Hakim, along with Lahore Polo Club Executive Committee members Raja Aamir, Feroze Gulzar and Saqib Khan Khakwani. A large number of polo players and families were also present.
The final proved to be a high-quality and fiercely contested encounter, with Diamond Paints taking the early initiative. However, FG/Asean mounted a strong comeback in the fourth chukka, inspired by Raja Mikayial Sami’s outstanding performance. The match eventually went into extra time, where FG/Asean sealed the title with a golden goal in sudden death to register an 8-7 victory.
For FG/Asean, Raja Mikhail Sami starred with seven goals, while Saqib Khan Khakwani added one. Diamond Paints’ goals came through Raja Jalal Arsalan, who scored five, while Mir Huzaifa Ahmed and Raja Temur Nadeem chipped in with one goal each.
The main final opened with an early field goal from Diamond Paints, giving them a 1-0 advantage, before FG/Asean responded in style with a field goal of their own to level the contest at 1-1. Just before the close of the opening chukka, Diamond Paints struck again to edge ahead 2-1. The second chukka remained finely balanced as both sides traded goals in an entertaining exchange, converting twice each. Diamond Paints, however, managed to maintain a narrow lead, going into halftime at 4-3.
Both teams added one goal apiece in the third chukka, with Diamond Paints continuing to hold the upper hand at 5-4. The intensity peaked in a high-octane fourth chukka, where both outfits displayed exceptional skill and determination. FG/Asean rose to the occasion, netting three crucial goals against two from Diamond Paints to draw level at 7-7 and force the contest into a sudden-death chukka.
In the decisive moment, veteran campaigner Saqib Khan Khakwani delivered under pressure, striking a superb golden goal to seal a dramatic victory for FG/Asean and crown them champions of the Lahore Open Polo Championship 2025.
Earlier, in the third-place playoff, BN Polo defeated Master Paints Black 11-3 to secure third position. In the closing ceremony, Raja Mikayial Sami was awarded the best player of the match, while the best pony of the final award went to “Chakira,” owned by Mir Shoaib Ahmed.

The 14th Lahore Open Polo Championship 2025 for the Patrons Cup continued in thrilling fashion on its fourth day at the Lahore Polo Club, where three highly competitive matches were played. FG/Asean, Diamond Paints and Master Paints Black emerged victorious, providing polo enthusiasts with a day full of excitement, skill and dramatic finishes.
In the opening match of the day, FG/Asean clinched a hard-fought 5-4 victory over BN Polo after an intense contest. Saqib Khan Khakwani delivered a standout performance for FG/Asean by scoring all five goals for his team. For BN Polo, Hamza Mawaz Khan netted three goals, while Saim Abbas added one.
The second match saw Diamond Paints overpower FG/Din Polo by 6-4 in an entertaining encounter. Raja Jalal Arsalan led the scoring for Diamond Paints with four goals, while Raja Temur Nadeem contributed two. FG/Din Polo’s resistance came through Juan Cruz Greguoli, who scored two goals, while Sheikh Muhammad Raffay and Agha Musa chipped in with one goal each.

An exciting and closely contested match was played on the third day of the 14th Lahore Open Polo Championship 2025 – Patrons Cup, organized by the Lahore Polo Club, where Master Paints Black defeated Team Balochistan by 7–6 in extra time on sudden death.
The thrilling encounter kept spectators on the edge of their seats as both teams displayed high-quality polo throughout the match. Regulation time ended in a draw, forcing the game into extra time, where Master Paints Black secured the winning goal to clinch a dramatic victory.
For Master Paints Black, scorina Javier Bello delivered an outstanding performance by scoring four goals, while Muhammad Ali Malik contributed two goals and Syed Turab Muhammad Rizvi added one goal to the team’s tally.

FG/Din and FG/Asean secured impressive victories on day two of the 14th Lahore Open Polo Championship 2025 – Patrons Cup, organised by the Lahore Polo Club.
A large number of sponsors, patrons and polo enthusiasts were present to witness the encounters. Prominent among them were Adnan Jalil Azam, Director Newage Cables; Farooq Amin Sufi and Sufi Haroon bin Haris, Directors Master Paints; Abubakar Siddique, Director Black Horse Paints; Maj (retd) Amjad Ghafoor, Secretary Lahore Polo Club; along with several leading polo players.
In the first match of the day, FG/Din edged out Rijas/Sheikhoo by 5-4 in a thrilling contest. Agha Musa Ali Khan starred for the winning side with an outstanding performance, scoring four goals, while Sheikh Muhammad Raffay added one goal. For Rijas/Sheikhoo, Raja Sami Ullah struck two goals, while Osman Aziz Anwar and Mohib Faisal Shehzad scored one goal each.

14th Lahore Open Polo Championship 2025 Patron’s Cup kicks off at Lahore Polo Club
The 14th Lahore Open Polo Championship 2025 (Patron’s Cup) got underway in grand fashion at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC), marking the start of one of Pakistan’s most prestigious polo tournaments.
According to Club Secretary Maj (retd) Amjad Ghafoor, the championship is collectively sponsored by prominent polo patrons and corporate partners, reflecting strong private-sector support for the sport. The sponsors include Babar Naseem, Mir Shoaib Ahmed of Diamond Paints, Dr Faisal Qadeer Khokhar of Re*****on Pharma, Adnan Jalil Azam of Newage Cables, Farooq Amin Sufi of Master Paints, Abubakar Siddique of Black Horse Paints, Hamza Ali Hakeem of AOS, Nafees Barry of Happy Cow Cheese, and Taimur Ali Malik of Guard Group.

A large number of Lahore’s polo lovers turned out to witness the high-stakes clash. The chief guest for the afternoon was Jose de Ore, Ambassador of Spain to Pakistan. He was accompanied by Director SQ Seagold Shiraz Qureshi, senior executive committee members Naseer Ahmed, Raja Aamir, Feroze Gulzar, and Club Secretary Major Amjad.

Master Paints reach main final, HK Polo qualify for subsidiary final in SQ Seagold Polo Cup
LAHORE : Master Paints stormed into the main final, while HK Polo clinched a spot in the subsidiary final on the third day of the SQ Seagold Polo Cup 2025, held at the Lahore Polo Club under an exciting American System format.
The event attracted a strong turnout, with Director SQ Seagold Shiraz Qureshi, Club President Malik Azam Hayat Noon, Executive Committee members, Secretary Major Amjad, and numerous club members and polo enthusiasts in attendance.
Director SQ Seagold Shiraz Qureshi, while speaking to the media, said he is not only a sponsor but also a passionate polo player and a member of the Lahore Polo Club. “Polo has always been close to my heart. It is truly a sport of kings and knights, and I remain fully committed to supporting its growth. Three teams, Master Paints, Team Balochistan, and Imperial Polo, featured in the American System qualification round, with each match consisting of two chukkers. Master Paints delivered the most consistent performance of the day, first defeating Imperial Polo 4–2 and then edging past Team Balochistan 4–3 to secure their place in the main final.
For Master Paints, Sufi Haroon showcased brilliant form, while Raja Temur Nadeem emerged as the top scorer, playing a decisive role in both victories.
HK Polo excel to secure subsidiary final berth
In the subsidiary qualification round, the losing teams from the earlier pool, Peshawar Polo Club, Guard Group/Lotto Carpets, and HK Polo, also competed under the American System structure.
HK Polo delivered commanding performances throughout the session, starting with a 4–2 win over Peshawar Polo Club before sealing their qualification with a convincing 5–3 triumph against Guard Group/Lotto Carpets.
The tournament continues today (Friday), when Pool B teams will fight for the remaining spots in the main and subsidiary finals of the prestigious SQ Seagold Polo Cup.
