Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cricket Team

Saturday, 14th January, 2023 at Hostel-II Cricket Ground, University of Peshawar.

A friendly cricket match was held between two teams of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat at Hostel-II Ground, University of Peshawar on Saturday, 14th January, 2023. After a thrilling battle, Team Blue, led by Muhammad Ayaz, won the match by only 2 runs beating the Team Green led by Hidayatullah Khan.

Sikandar Khan top scored for Team Blue scoring a quick-fire 50 while Khwaja Sikandar scored 35 runs taking their team to 206/8 in the allotted 25 overs. Syed Ibrar and Hidayatullah Khan got two wickets each for team Green.

In response, team Green managed to score 204/7 in 25 overs, falling two runs short off the target. Masood Rehman top scored with a stylish inning of 39 runs while Amjad Ali scored 33 runs. Muhammad Ayaz got 4 wickets for team Blue and was adjudged the player of the match for his match-winning bowling effort.

First of the three-match series between Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and "Eighteen" was played in Miusam Cricket Ground, Faisal Town Islamabad which was won by Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 64 runs.

Batting first, KP Assembly, led by Saifullah Khan, scored 198 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Ayaz top scored with 36 while Samiullah and Saifullah Khan scored 29 and 28 runs respectively. Ashiq Ali was the best bowler from Eighteen and got three wickets while Sarmad got 2 wickets.

In reply, Eighteen, led by Qarnain Hassan, managed to score only 134 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Ashiq Ali scored 33 runs while Haaris Saeed scored 28 runs. Shah Zaman from KP Assembly ripped through the top order of Eighteen and got 3 wickets for only 8 runs while Ibrar Bacha and Adil Jan got 2 wickets each.

The second match of the three-match series will be played in Peshawar Gymkhana on Saturday, 11th February, 2023.
