Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced a substantial increase in match fees for national cricketers across all three formats—Test, One-Day International (ODI), and T20. Speaking to the media, the PCB chief emphasized that participation in domestic cricket is now strictly mandatory for players seeking national central contracts, and those failing to meet the required criteria will not be awarded agreements. The board is introducing five distinct categories for central contracts while transforming the player selection framework into an 85% computerized system driven solely by fitness, performance data, and analytics. Regarding the Test captaincy, Naqvi stated that selection officials will make the final decision, while highly praising veteran player Sarfaraz Ahmed as an invaluable asset to Pakistan cricket.
