Two Different Ways to Release the Golf Club

Most golfers don’t realise there’s more than one way to release the club through impact…

And understanding this can completely change how you view your swing.

🏌️‍♂️ Type 1: The Body Release

Known for consistency and control, this release has a LOWER rate of clubface closure through impact.

That usually means:

✔️ Straighter ball flights
✔️ More predictable shots
✔️ Better accuracy under pressure
✔️ Less timing required

This is the release pattern many elite ball strikers tend to favour.

💪 Type 2: The Forearm Release

This release uses more forearm rotation and a HIGHER rate of clubface closure.

That can help create:

✔️ More speed
✔️ More face rotation
✔️ More shot-shaping ability
✔️ Huge distance potential

But the trade-off?

The timing has to be very precise — otherwise direction can become inconsistent.

One important thing golfers misunderstand:

➡️ In a body release, the clubface is STILL releasing… just at a slower rate.

Both release styles can absolutely work at a high level.
It simply depends on how you want to play the game.
