So tough to read about things like this. Some say obesity is a disease, others say its a choice, and some say it is a symptom of something else.
I believe in individuality, for the good and the bad, and recognize that all of the above may be true, in a case by case basis.
But one thing obesity is NOT, is healthy. Learn to love yourself. Realize that theres so much more to being a quality human than aesthetics. But don’t try to convince others to remain idle in their process towards a healthier version of themselves. Don’t promote an unhealthy state as a means of proving a point. Theres always a way to improve your health to some degree. Theres always someone you could ask for help. There’s always a possible intervention that could help. If you really believe in self love, love yourself enough to take whichever steps are necessary to get healthier.
Posted • I would never shame someone for their weight. In part that’s because I understand the science here, the neuroregulation of appetite, that optimum foraging strategy insists that we are wired to eat more, move less. I understand the nature of hyper palatable foods and how remarkably difficult it is to best them. But I can be honest with people about the risks of a modern, obeseity centric lifestyle. Many of the folks in the health space, some who got their starts going to my seminars, have lied to people about all this. How and why did they do this? 1-these people do not understand any of the science at play here. None of it. 2-they pl es virtue signaling above being honest with people. If we really care about people we sometimes have hard, but honest conversations. There are a host of topics in which “good intentions” are creating the literal path to hell.
